With the sustainable development of China's economy,and the increasingly improvement of its international status,especially with the policy guidance of "the Belt and Road Initiatives",Chinese language has been concerned and favored by more and more people.In order to promote the flourishing development of overseas Chinese educational career,the office of Chinese language council has spared no efforts to send a large number of volunteers abroad,and I am lucky to be one of the volunteers in Fuqing Confucius classroom of MY.Meanwhile,I have taken part in the voluntary teaching activities for one year in Bhamo Buddhist School.Chinese language teaching consists of two large parts,one of which is oral language teaching;the other is written language teaching of Chinese.However,written language teaching cannot be away with the Chinese characters,which have inherited thousands of Chinese culture.With regard to Burmese learners of non-Chinese cultural circle,Chinese characters are like pictures in a mess,which have become a barrier in their way of learning Chinese.During the teaching in Bhamo Buddhist School,the author taught Grade one to Grade three students.Through the teaching,the author found out that no matter the methods of students learning Chinese characters,or the way of teachers teaching Chinese characters,there are some weaknesses.Therefore,it has become a vital task for the author to improve the defects and get through the difficulties in Chinese characters teaching and learning during the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.By ways of classroom observation method,statistics analysis method,interview method,literature induction method,as well as the search and collection of students'assignments,and by combining the practical teaching experience,the author studies on the current status of Chinese beginners and Chinese characters teaching in Bhamo Buddhist School,and proposes some teaching strategies.This dissertation consists of six chapters:Chapter one mainly introduces the significance and purpose of topic selection.Meanwhile,it summarizes the previous research results from the studies on current status of Chinese characters teaching,the studies on the teaching in Myanmar,and the studies on Chinese character errors.What's more,it illustrates the methods of creating this dissertation and its innovation.Chapter two introduces the grades,nationality,learning motivations,and course arrangement of researchers,and analyzes the Chinese characters learning of the research objects.Chapter three introduces the grades,nationality,learning motivations,and course arrangement of researchers,and analyzes the Chinese characters learning of the research objects.Chapter four through searching and classifying the classroom and after-class assignments of the research objects,chapter four summarizes the types of Chinese character errors of research objects,as well as the causes.Chapter five according to the laws and characteristics of Chinese characters,chapter five proposes effective teaching strategies that abide by the teaching principle of Chinese characters,with the expectation of pushing forward local Chinese character teaching.Chapter six through analyzing instructional designs and teaching cases,chapter six tests whether the proposed teaching strategies can help students find out effective purposes of learning Chinese characters,or correctly use,Chinese characters on a reasonable basis.
