For rural boarding students,loneliness has become one of the reasons for their physical and mental health.In recent decades,the relationship between social support and loneliness has been studied by many researchers.But at present,there are few researches on the effect of social support on the mechanism of rural junior high school boarding students as a special group,this study from the perspective of emotion regulation effect of social support on rural junior middle school boarding students loneliness.In this study,257 rural junior high school students were selected as the subjects,and the relationship between social support and loneliness was investigated by using the perceived social support scale and loneliness scale.The results show that the higher the level of perceived social support for rural junior high school students is,the less the loneliness is,that is,the social support and loneliness of rural junior high school students are significantly negatively correlated.After controlling for demographic variables,social support had a significant predictive effect on loneliness of rural boarding students.Two on the basis of the first study in 315 rural boarding junior high school students as the research object,the perceived social support scale,emotion regulation scale,loneliness scale of rural junior high school boarding students emotion regulation strategy use frequency(cognitive reappraisal and expression suppression),the relationship between social support and loneliness.The results showed that there was a significant positive correlation between loneliness and expression suppression strategy use frequency,and cognitive reappraisal strategy use frequency was negatively correlated,negatively correlated with social support;cognitive reappraisal strategy use frequency and social support had a significant positive correlation;cognitive reappraisal strategy plays a partial mediating role the relationship between social support and loneliness of rural junior middle school students.The results show that social support can predict the loneliness of rural junior high school boarding students,and cognitive reappraisal strategy plays a partial mediating role between social support and loneliness.
