Bronze Mirror Casting Industry In The Tang-song Period

The bronze mirror,as the necessity in ancient people's daily life,has a close relationship with them.Its production,development and evolution are closely related to the development of the society.There are two kinds of bronze mirror casting industry in the Tang-Song period.One is the official-management bronze mirror casting industry,the other is the private bronze mirror casting industry.The development of the bronze mirror casting industry reflects the tendency of the handicraft industry during the Tang-Song period.Although Tang and Song dynasties are both prosperous,the styles of bronze mirror are different.The author attempts to explore the development of the bronze mirror casting industry and the reasons of its changes in the Tang-Song period by combining documents with the unearthed data.This paper is divided into three parts:The first part is chapter one which mainly discusses the development of the official-management bronze mirror casting industry in the Tang-Song Period.In Song Dynasty,the official-casted mirror is mainly used as a method of managing and controlling the bronze mirror market to make profits for the government.The second part is chapter two.It talks about the development of the private bronze mirror casting industry in the Tang-Song Period.Although in the effects of the policy,which prohibits the copper,the private bronze mirror casting industry is more prosperous.The development of the bronze mirror casting industry reflects the tendency of the market economy in Song Dynasty.The third part is chapter three.It mainly discusses the changes of the bronze mirror in Tang-Song period and its reasons.Meanwhile,the changes are the product of this era.
