"Anthropomorphic Comics" refers to the comics that give human qualities, including personality and human’s shape,to non-human beings(items or concepts). This kind of comics are popular in the network age.Differing from the past comics with anthropomorphism, anthropomorphic comics are created by the painters holding an explicit idea to use human bodily forms to express the anthropomorphism.Since 2009,the idea of "everything can be personified as human form"has brought about new changes to comics. The internet has seen an increasing number of anthropomorphic comics with specific human bodily forms.Gathering an impressive amount of press attention,it became the foundation of this research. This paper starts with an explanation for "comic","anthropomorphism"and other relative concepts that are associated with this study.Secondly,it describes the change of anthropomorphism in comics based on the popularity reports from print media as well as the data services from search engines. And the motivation of such change is mainly attributed to the moe anthropomorphism which was developed from Japanese "moe".Thirdly, this study refines the creative idea of the creation of anthropomorphic comics, which is transferring the features of the non-human beings to human beings as well as combining them into integrated comic characters.Besides, the study explains the applications of some main types of anthropomorphic comics in the actual creation, spreading and appreciation. And finally, suggestions for the further development of the anthropomorphic comics are given in this study by summarizing the realistic significance and limitations of the current online anthropomorphic comics.
