The Research Of The Relationship Of Implicit Self-Esteem And Explicit Self-Esteem And Self-Body Recognition Of College Students

Self-superiority effect of self-body recognition is mainly reflecting the recognition accuracy of themselves,body is significantly higher than for recognition accuracy of others,body,and this kind of body recognition accuracy is under the influence of individual self-esteem.After implicit self-esteem was proposed,researchers divide self-esteem into implicit self-esteem and explicit self-esteem,studies of the relationship between the two is one of the hot topics in the field of self-esteem research,then in the recognition of self-body,they play an interaction or independent role of each other and the relationship between these three is still unclear.This article explore how the implicit self-esteem and explicit self-esteem influence self-body recognition by two experimental study.The first research explores the relationship of implicit self-esteem and explicit self-esteem and self-body recognition,it was found that implicit self-esteem and explicit self-esteem are independent of each other,then we found that explicit self-esteem have no effects on self-body recognition,implicit self-esteem have significant effects on self-body recognition,but have no effects on other-body recognition.Since only implicit self-esteem is related to self-body recognition,then how the implicit self-esteem affected self-body recognition?The second research is based on the first research to verify causal relationship between implicit self-esteem and the self-body recognition,that we will divide into two groups by level of the implicit self-esteem and influence the level of implicit self-esteem to observe the test performance in the self body recognition,the research results show that when individuals accept self-concept threat,the implicit self-esteem level of two groups of participants’ will drop significantly,after the level of implicit self-esteem falling,the self superiority effect of self-body recognition will reduce significantly.That means individual implicit self-esteem is the directly influencing factor of self body recognition.All the results show that :(1)There is a significant self-advantage in self-body recognition effect,that is the matching accuracy of self body is significantly higher than matching other people’s body.(2)Self-body recognition either match their body or matching someone’s body,male and female differences in response rate does not exist.(3)There is no significant correlation between implicit self-esteem and explicit self-esteem,explicit self-esteem has noeffect on body recognition,implicit self-esteem have significant effects on personal identification when identify his own body parts,but has no effect on personal identification when identify others ’ body.(4)When individuals accept self-concept threat starts,the level of high implicit group and low implicit group will drop significantly and the self-superiority effect of self-body recognition will reduce.
