ObjectiveTo observe the rehabilitation effect of exercise of pelvic floor muscle combined with heat-sensitive moxibustion on elderly patients with urinary incontinence after stroke, with the purpose of finding out a more ideal interventions for such patients,so as to improve their life quality.Methods90 elderly patients who developed urinary incontinence after a stroke hospitalized in a teaching hospital affiliated to medical colleges and universities in anhui province from August 2017 to August 2019 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into 2 groups according to the numerical table method, with 45 in each group.Patients in both groups were given basic treatment and conventional rehabilitation measures for stroke and relapse prevention.Patients in the control group added with conventional nursing and the exercise of pelvic floor muscle, and those in the observation group added with conventional nursing, pelvic floor muscle function exercise combined with heat-sensitive moxibustion. The patients' interventions lasted for 3 months. The severity and effective rate of urinary incontinence before and after treatment were evaluated, frequency of urination during the day, frequency of urination at night, volume of urination at one time, average number of incontinence, incidence of urinary tract infection and quality of life scale(I-QOL)before and after treatment were recorded.Spearman correlation test was used to analyze the correlationbetween I-QOL score and severity of urinary incontinence, frequency of urination during day, frequency of urination at night, and frequency of urinary incontinence within 24 hours after combined treatment.ResultsThere were no significant differences between the two groups in basic data such as gender, age, course of disease, type of stroke, education background, and location of stroke lesions(P>0.05);the total effective rate of treatment in the observation group(88.1%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(66.7%)(P<0.05).There was no statistical significance about daytime and nighttime urination frequency,a single urine output, the frequency of urinary incontinence, urinary incontinence severity rating,I-QOL scale score between control group and observation group before the treatment(P > 0.05).Comparison within groups of the two groups before and after treatment shows that incontinence severity, daytime and nighttime urination frequency, average daily urinary incontinence frequency decreased of the two groups after treatment, the scores of single urination and I-QOL scale increased, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Comparison within groups of the two groups after treatment shows that, compared with the control group, the severity rating of urinary incontinence, the frequency of urination during day and night, the frequency of daily incontinence, the frequency of single urination, the incidence of urinary tract infection and the I-QOL scale score of the observation group were all better than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that the I-QOL scale score increased with the improvement of severity of urinary incontinence, frequency of urination during day and night, volume of single urination, and frequency of daily incontinence.ConclusionThe treatment of pelvic floor muscle function exercise combined with Heatsensitive moxibustion can improve the treatment effect of urinary incontinence after stroke in elderly patients, reduce urinary tract infection, improve the quality of life.
