Medicine In Earlier Imperial Ages Of China:A Study Into The Medical Families And Lineages During The Wei,Jin,Northern And Southern Dynasties

The emergence of medical family lineages in Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties is a unique historical phenomenon in the history of medicine.The founders of these lineages are mostly well-learned scholars from aristocratic families under the historical influence of the time,delving deep in medical studies and became masters of medicine.Upon researching into these families and lineages,there are 11 founders with historical materials that can be studied.To comprehend how the phenomenon emerged and to explore details of these medical lineages in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern period,the historical material of the 11 founders will be studied and analysed,and presented in three sections.The first chapter is the investigation of the chronology of emergence,the number of emerged lineages,the geological distribution,medical practice related details and the inheritance of these medical lineages.The second chapter will explore the emergence and inheritance of these family lineages,their characteristics and differences influenced by philosophy,politics,economy,to explain the achievement in medical practice and advancement.The third chapter will investigate how the medical lineage impacted the medical advancement and development in the later ages through the comparison and analyses of medical literature materials and changes.The study on the lineages of medical families in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties,revealed the reason for the unique phenomenon occurrence was only possible due to the unique historical background of the time and was critical in the retaining information to understand the advancement of Traditional Chinese Medicine history.
