Objective: This study was designed to explore the relationship between the duration of needle retention and the curative effect by observing the intervention effect of different needle retention times on the pain of knee osteoarthritis under the condition of the same selection of wrist and ankle acupuncture,so as to provide a scientific basis for the selection of the best needle retention time for the clinical intervention of wrist and ankle acupuncture on the pain of knee osteoarthritis in the early and middle stages. Methods: 132 patients with early to mid-stage knee osteoarthritis from March 2018 to September 2019 in the department of Joint surgery of a Third-grade A hospital in Gansu Province were selected as the research objects according to the inclusion criteria. They were divided into four groups as the control group according to the random number table method on the basis of completely conforming to ethical principles(basic treatment:On the basis of general nursing and health education, hot application of Traditional Chinese medicine was given to group 1(basic treatment + carpal and ankle acupuncture for 20min),group 2(basic treatment + carpal and ankle acupuncture for 40min),and group 3(basic treatment + carpal and ankle acupuncture for 60min).Digital rating score(NRS score),WOMAC score and adverse reaction index were observed and statistically analyzed before and after 1 course of treatment.Results:(1)Comparison of Digital Grading Scores(NRS):The NRS scores of the four groups were compared before and after the intervention, and the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.01),indicating that the treatment regimens of the four groups were effective in alleviating the pain of knee osteoarthritis.four groups after the intervention compared between two groups: experimental group 1,2,3,respectively,compared with the contrast between the way found in on knee osteoarthritis pain relief effect were better than control group(P < 0.05),experiment 2 group and 3 way, comparison between the two groups in on knee osteoarthritis pain relief effect with no significant difference(P > 0.05),and test 2 and test 3 groups respectively compared between group and experiment 1 group, results show that the experiment 2 group and 3 group intervention effect is better than that of test 1 group(P < 0.05).(2)WOMAC comparison:The WOMAC total scores of the four groups were compared within the group before and after intervention, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01),indicating that the four groups' treatment regimens were effective in improving the overall function of knee osteoarthritis.Four groups WOMAC scores were compared between groups: experimental group 2,3,respectively,compared with control group and test between 1 way, results show that the experimental group 2,3,in the aspect of improve the function of knee osteoarthritis whole obvious effects in the control group and experiment 1 group(P < 0.05),and the comparison between experiment 2 group and 3 way,the results show that the test 2 and test 3 groups in terms of overall improve knee osteoarthritis function effect quite(P > 0.05).(3)Comparison of WOMAC scores in all dimensions:The pain degree, stiffness degree and joint function scores of WOMAC were compared in the four groups before and after intervention, and the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.01),indicating that the four treatment regimens were effective in improving the pain degree, stiffness degree and joint function of knee osteoarthritis.Four groups pain intensity dimension were compared between groups: test group 1,2,3,respectively,compared with control group, results show that the experimental group 1,2,3,in improving the degree of knee osteoarthritis pain than control group obviously(P < 0.05),the comparison between experiment 2 group and 3 way,the result shows: the experimental group 2,3,in improving the degree of knee osteoarthritis pain effect is quite(P > 0.05),experiment group 2,3,respectively,compared with contrast between way,the results showed: experiment group 2,3,intervention is better than 1 group(P < 0.05);Degree of stiffness and joint function were compared between groups of two dimensions: the experimental group 2,3,in terms of improvement of KOA stiffness and joint function, respectively, compared with control group and test between 1 way,the result shows: the experimental group 2,3,in terms of improvement of KOA stiffness and joint function obvious effects in the control group and experiment 1 group(P < 0.05),2,3,and test group in terms of improvement of KOA stiffness and joint function effect quite(P > 0.05).Conclusion:(1)The wrist-ankle acupuncture group(test group 1,2 and 3)had better intervention effects in improving the pain, stiffness and joint function of knee osteoarthritis than the control group;(2)Experimental group 2(40min with needle retention)and experimental group 3(60min with needle retention)were superior to other treatment groups in improving the pain, stiffness and joint function of knee osteoarthritis.(3)The effect of wrist and ankle acupuncture on pain relief of knee osteoarthritis for 40 min was better than that of other treatment groups.
