Objective:Optical visual quality analysis system?OQAS II?was used to study the visual quality of patients with age-related cataract after implantation of different types of intraocular lens,in order to further understand the visual quality of patients with age-related cataract after implantation of different types of intraocular lens, and to provide a certain reference for clinical personalized selection of intraocular lens. Methods:A total of 62 patients?99 eyes?with age-related cataract who were performed phacoemulsification surgery from July 2018 to August 2019 in the department of Ophthalmology,Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital were collected by prospective clinnical research.they were divided into two groups according to the difference of intraocular lens implanted. There were 24 patients?42 eyes?in the Multifocal intraocular lens group?MIOL group?.The Single focus intraocular lens group?SIOL group?consisted of 38 patients?57 eyes?.All patients had a routine examination before the operation.Follow-up at 1 week,1 month, and 3 months after surgery,The observation indicators included:Uncorrected Distance Visual Acuity?UCDVA?,Uncorrected Near Visual Acuity?UCNVA?,Best Corrected Distance Visual Acuity?BCDVA?,Best Corrected Near Visual Acuity?BCNVA?,The Optical Quality Analysis System?OQASII?was used to evaluated Objective visual quality, including the Object Scatter Index?OSI?,the Strehl ratio?SR?,the modulation transfer function cut off frequency?MTF cut off?,three optical Quality Analysis System II?OQAS II?values at contrasts of 100%,20%and 9%.Three months after surgery, the visual quality of life of the patients was evaluated with 25-item National Eye Institute Visual Function questionaire?NEI-VFQ-25?.Results:Three follow-ups were performed after surgery,UCDVA,BCDVA,UCNVA and BCNVA were significantly improved in both MIOL and SIOL groups?all p<0.05?.The MIOL group had a better UCNVA than SIOL group, the difference was statistically significant(F??=105.557,P??<0.001).However,no significant difference was showed between two groups in UCDVA?BCDVA and BCNVA postoperatively(all p??>0.05).The MTF cutoff,SR,OV100%,OV20%,and OV9%in both MIOL and SIOL groups at 1 week,1 month, and 3 months after surgery were significantly higher than those before surgery?all p<0.05?.The OSI values of the SIOL group and MIOL group at 1week,1 month, and 3 months after surgery were significantly lower than those before surgery?all p<0.05?.After surgery,There was no significant difference in MTF cut off,SR,OSI and OV100%between the two groups(all p??>0.05),While the MIOL group had a lower OV20%and OV9%than the SIOL group(F??=8.096,P??=0.005;F??=16.738,P??<0.001),the values of OV20%and OV9%in the MIOL group were lower than those in the SIOL group at three time points after cataract surgery?all P<0.05?.At 3 months after surgery,SR and OSI in the SIOL group and MIOL group were better than those at 1week after surgery,MTF cut off in the SIOL group was higher than those at 1 week after surgery?all p<0.05?.At 3 months after surgery, the MIOL group was superior to the SIOL group in terms of overall eyesight and near vision. Conclusion:Both single-focus aspheric intraocular lens implantation and diffractive refractive bifocal aspheric intraocular lens implantation can effectively improve the objective visual quality of patients with age-related cataract, especially in the three months after surgery, all the visual quality indicators were significantly improved,Moreover, the patients with multifocal intraocular lens implantation had better near vision. It is suggested that patients who are reluctant to wear glasses may be implanted with multifocal intraocular lens according to their needs and preoperative examination results.
