Purpose-Since the "Outline of the" Healthy China 2030 "Plan" was promulgated,’Healthy China’ has become a national strategy;and health literacy,as an important indicator of the public health quality of a country or region,has been the focus of common concern of people all over the world.During the same period,China ’s “two-child policy” was fully liberalized.It is estimated that the number of new population in China will reach two million each year.Although the physical and mental health of pregnant women in China has improved significantly,the level of health literacy has been uneven.As an independent factor,maternal health literacy will directly affect the health outcomes of themselves and their children.How to obtain health information through health information search behaviors to improve maternal and child health literacy is very important.Originality/value-Health information search behaviors are a series of health behaviors in which individuals search,acquire,evaluate and utilize health information due to their consciousness and needs.This article takes prospective mothers and lactating mothers who visit the obstetrics department of Guangdong Maternal and Child Health Hospital as research objects,and aims to explore the impact of differences in maternal health information search behaviors on actual health literacy in order to improve domestic health information services for maternal groups.Improving the health of mothers and infants,and providing a reference for the choice of path to spread the corresponding health knowledge and concepts to mothers and infants.Desugn/methodology/approach-This paper summarizes and designs a model of the impact of health information search behaviors on maternal and child health literacy through literature review,questionnaire surveys,and interview summaries.The model is verified and revised.Finally,a scientific explanation is given based on data obtained from empirical research.Findinngs-This article develops relevant questionnaires for demographic variables,health information search behaviors,and the operationalization of maternal health literacy.A pre-test questionnaire was conducted on November 10,2019.A total of 50 pre-test questionnaires were collected and the content of the questionnaire was adjusted according to the response.On the 16 th,368 formal questionnaires were distributed,of which 367 were valid questionnaires.Through 367 questionnaire surveys,it was found that there was a correlation between health information search behaviors and maternal and child health literacy,and each literacy was significantly affected by health search behaviors.
