Semen holarrhenae is a dry seed of the plant Holarrhena antidysenterica Wall.ex A.DC.light gray.In China, diarrhea mainly grows in many ethnic minority areas such as Inner Mongolia,Tibet,Qinghai,Ningxia,Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Xinjiang.Antidiarrheal wood is slightly bitter, with heat-clearing and detoxifying, sweating, choleretic, antidiarrheal, analgesic effect, and has good curative effect on bacteria, liver and gallbladder inflammation and intestinal infection.Modern research has shown that Semen holarrhenae contains mainly triterpenoids, alkaloids and organic acids. In particular, triterpenoids and alkaloidsare active and are the main active ingredients in Semen holarrhenae. Objective: To study the chemical constituents of Semen holarrhenae. Methods: The dried seeds of the Holarrhena antidysenterica Wall.ex A.DC.of the oleander family were used as raw materials, and the chemical components were extracted by percolation method. Then, the dichloromethane fraction I was separated by silica gel column chromatography. Finally, twenty compounds were identified by NMR,MS and other modern spectral techniques. Results: twenty compounds included eight pentacyclic triterpenes, one sterol, one alkaloid, two alkane, seven fatty acid esters,andonearomaticacidester.lupeol(1),lupenone(2),lupeolacetate(3),lupeolstearate(4),lu penylpalmitate(5),α-amyrinacetate(6),α-amyrenone(7),3β-palmitoyl-α-amyrin(8),β-s itosterolpalmitate(9),5-Methyl-5H-pyrido[4,3-b]indole(10),n-hexadecane(11),n-he xacosane(12),(E)-9-octadecenoicacid(13),(Z)-10-Eicosenoicacid(14),palmiticacid(15),methylpalmitate(16),tetradecanoicacid(17),methylheptadecanoate(18),stearicacid(19),dipentyl phthalate(20).Conclusion: Compounds 1-20 were isolated from Semen holarrhenae for the first time.
