Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status of nutrition education occupational literacy among primary health workers,and to find the weakness of nutritional knowledge,skills,and professional behavior of primary health worker in Chongqing.And this study is aimed to provide a reference and suggestion for improving the professional qualities of the nutrition education of the primary health workers based on the existing problems.Methods: The questionnaire survey method based on website or QR Code was adopted.The survey was conducted through the “Questionnaire Star” network platform.The staff at the Primary Health Department of the Health Commission of Chongqing sent the questionnaire links to the work communication groups of primary health service institutions in Chongqing and Chongqing,respectively.The self-designed questionnaire was developed after literature search and expert consultation,including the following four aspects:(1)Notification and informed consent;(2)Social demographic characteristics of the primary health workers;(3)Occupational literacy of nutrition education;and(4)Self-evaluation of occupational literacy of nutrition education nutrition and other related issues.All statistical analyses in this study were performed in the Stata software.ANOVA was used to compare the mean value of each group of continuous variables.Multiple linear stepwise regression model was used when the dependent variable is a continuous variable.The nutrition education occupational literacy scoring is based on different sections.The knowledge and skills were scored by using one point for correct answer,no point for wrong answer.The behavior and skill parts are assigned 3,2,1,and 3 points respectively according to the answers.Results: A total of 1051 primary health workers were included in this study,including 264 males(25.12%)and 787 females(74.88%);the average age of the primary health workers participating in the survey was 32.42;The degree is mainly junior college and undergraduate(88.6%);Only 0.48% primary health workers have a postgraduate degree.76.59% of the respondents got married,and 51.28% of primary health workers participating in this survey had a child.There 35.68% participants were doctors and 35.56% were nurses,with at least 8.85% were technicians.The title of a technical post is mainly junior(57.09%),and the senior is less than 5%;in addition,28.25% of the respondents have worked for more than 15 years.The total score of the nutrition education occupational literacy of the primary health workers was averagely 17.971 ± 0.12.The average scores of each dimension of nutrition education occupational literacy are: knowledge dimension 8.32 ± 0.08,skill dimension 2.97 ± 0.04;behavior dimension 3.64 ± 0.02,cognitive dimension 3.04 ± 0.04;The passing rate and excellent rate of total score is 46.81% and 3.43%,respectively.722(68.70%)primary health workers stated that they had given dietary advice or nutrition education to patients or residents in the past month.40.03% primary health workers carry out nutrition education due to their own thoughts that nutrition is important and voluntarily.97.91% of the believe that nutrition is important and voluntarily expressed their willingness to learn more nutrition knowledge and skills.Nutrition information(75%),systematic learning(58.7%),and communication with colleagues(40%)are the three most popular ways of receiving nutrition education for primary health workers.77.10% primary health workers thought that the current nutrition education problem was the shortage of their own nutrition expertise.Univariate analysis revealed differences in the scores among primary health workers of different ages,genders,positions,titles,personal monthly incomes,and BMI(p<0.05).Multiple linear analysis found that the development of nutrition education,position,personal average monthly income,gender,work unit,job title,and ethnicity have an impact on nutrition education professional literacy.The development of nutrition education is positively correlated with the scores of nutrition occupational literacy.The primary health workers who carried out nutrition education have higher nutrition education professional literacy scores than those without nutrition education(? =-0.431,p <0.001),technicians(? =-0.59,p <0.001),nurses(? =-0.216,p <0.001)and other positions(? =-0.172,p <0.001)have lower scores in nutrition education and professional literacy than doctors;the average personal monthly income is higher than The nutritional education professional literacy score of 3,000 yuan for primarylevel medical staff is higher than the score of the basic medical staff with an average monthly income of less than 3,000 yuan,of which the highest vocational literacy score for nutritional education of primary-level medical staff is within the range of 3,000-5,999 yuan(? =0.185,p< 0.001);the nutritional education professional literacy score of female primary health workers is higher than that of male(? = 0.181,p <0.001);the nutritional education occupational literacy score of primary health workers in village clinics / health service stations is higher than that of community health service centers staff(? = 0.086,p = 0.001);ethnic minorities scored lower than the Han population(? =-0.061,p = 0.017).Conclusion: The level of occupational literacy of nutrition education for primary health workers in Chongqing is not high,and the excellent rate is low.Occupational literacy knowledge of nutrition education is at the basic stage,and the knowledge of professional nutrition is insufficient,and the nutrition professional skills are lacking,which cannot meet the need for the current occupation.It is very necessary to carry out targeted and key training for the shortage of nutritional occupational literacy of primary health workers.In addition,nutrition education behavior of primary health workers carried out are not often in Chongqing.Nutrition information,systematic learning,and colleagues exchange are the most expected ways to receive nutrition education.The development of nutrition education,position,personal average monthly income,gender,and ethnicity have an impact on the occupational literacy of nutrition education for primary health workers.
