Objective:To understand the level and influencing factors of health literacy among junior middle school students in a certain district of Chongqing,and evaluate the effects of health education interventions,for which provide reference for improving junior middle school students'health literacy.Method:Stratified cluster sampling was used to collect 4 junior middle schools(2 from urban and rural areas)in a certain area for investigation.The survey tools included General Survey Questionnaire and Junior Middle School Health Literacy Evaluation Scale.In the urban and rural areas,one school was selected as the intervention school to carry out health education intervention,another school in urban and rural area was used as the control school.Three months later,the intervention and control schools were surveyed using the same survey tools as the baseline.The statistical analysis methods used included?~2 test and two-category Logistic regression.Result1 Status of health literacy among junior middle school studentsThe rate of health literacy junior middle school students in a certain district of Chongqing was 44.0%.The highest attainment of dimension literacy was critical health literacy(61.0%),functional health literacy(46.4%)and interactive health literacy(42.6%),the rate of factor literacy from highest to lowest for accidental injury and first aid(78.8%),scientific outlook on health(71.0%),adolescent development(62.7%),critical literacy(61.0%),problem solving ability(60.4%),Reasonable nutrition(57.6%),mental health(54.7%),disease prevention(37.8%),and health determination ability(34.8%).School type(OR=1.475),whether non-resident students lived in school(OR=1.490),academic achievement(OR=1.687)and whether to actively obtain health information(OR=1.287)were the influencing factors of junior middle school students'health literacy.2 Evaluation of intervention effects among junior middle school students'health literacyAfter the intervention,junior middle school students whose functional health literacy,total health literacy and factor nutrition,disease prevention,puberty development,accidental injury and emergency,health decision-making ability literacy rate were higher than before the intervention,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After invention,the rate of functional health literacy,critical health literacy and factor rational camping and critical literacy among invention school were higher than that of the control school,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention,the students among invention school whose functional health literacy,total health literacy and scientific health concepts,rational nutrition,disease prevention,puberty development,mental health,accidental injuries and first aid,health decision-making ability literacy rate were higher than before intervention,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The prevalence of functional health literacy,interactive health literacy,critical health literacy and total health literacy among intervention junior middle school students were lower than the control school,The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),After intervention,there was no statistical difference between the intervention and control school in these aspects(P>0.05),but the rate of reasonable nutrition and adolescent development literacy in the intervention school was higher than control school,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The level of interactive health literacy and health determination ability among junior middle school students in a certain district of Chongqing are lowest.The type of school,whether or not to live in school,academic achievement and active access to health information may influence their health literacy.Health education intervention can improve junior middle school students'health literacy level.
