Objective: To quantitatively evaluate the clinical effect of vitamin A supplementation in the treatment of children with recurrent respiratory tract infections.Methods: By searching the common Chinese and English databases and clinical trial registration websites with computer,then screening relevant studies on vitamin A treatment of recurrent respiratory tract infections according to the inclusion exclusion criteria,sorting the research data ? evaluating the quality of literature and finally applying the Revman5.3 software incorporate data for meta-analysis.Results: A total of 16 literatures including 1 240 patients were analyzed.The results showed that vitamin A supplementation could increase the apparent efficacy of treatment of recurrent respiratory tract infections in children(P<0.000 01,RR=2.13,95%CI: 1.65~2.76)and reduce the remission time of clinical symptoms(P=0.004,MD=?1.60,95%CI: ?2.68~?0.52),shorten the white blood cells recovery time(P<0.000 01,MD=?2.13,95%CI: ?2.95~?1.31).Conclusion: Supplementation of vitamin A can effectively help children with recurrent respiratory tract infections improve the clinical treatment effect,improve clinical symptoms,and promote the recovery of white blood cell count.
