Objective:To investigate the correlation between iron metabolism parameters and dorsalis pedis artery plaque formation in Tibetan and Han patients with type 2 diabetes, and to understand whether there are differences between Tibetan and Han patients in Qinghai. Methods:According to the principle of random sampling,a total of 400 T2 DM patients who were hospitalized in the Department of Endocrinology,Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University from November 2016 to November 2019 and met the WHO 1999 diagnostic criteria for diabetes were selected withcomplete data. They were divided into four groups according to the presence orabsence of dorsalis pedis artery plaques,100 Tibetan type 2 diabetes mellitus alone group(group A),100 Tibetan type 2 diabetes mellitus with dorsalis pedis artery plaques group(group B),100 Han type 2 diabetes mellitus alone group(group C)and 100 Han type 2 diabetes mellitus with dorsalis pedis artery plaques group(group D).The general data and biochemical parameters of the selected patients, dorsalis pedis artery color Doppler ultrasound, and iron metabolism parameters were recorded.SPSS 21.0 system software was used tostatistically process and analyze the above collected data.Results:(1)The waist circumference and BMI of the four groups were statistically significant(p<0.05).The BMI of Tibetan type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque group was significantly higher than that of Tibetan type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque group;the waist circumference of Tibetan type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque group was significantly higher than that of Han type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaquegroup, and the waist circumference of Tibetan type 2 diabetes alone group wassignificantly higher than that of Han type 2 diabetes alone group. There was nostatistical significance in gender, age and disease course among groups(p>0.05).(2)Only TBIL was statistically different among the four groups of biochemical parameters, and TBIL was significantly lower in the Tibetan type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque group than in the Han type 2 diabeteswith plaque group.(3)There was no statistical significance in SI among the four groups(P>0.05);SF and TS% were significantly higher in the Tibetan and Han type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque group than in the Tibetan and Hantype 2 diabetes alone group;UIBC was significantly lower in the Tibetan and Han type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque group than in the Tibetan and Han type 2 diabetes alone group;and SF was significantly higher in the Tibetan type 2 diabetes alone group than in the Han type 2 diabetes alone group.(4)There was no statistical difference in HOMA-? among the four groups(P>0.05).The FBG and IR of type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque in Tibetan and Han nationalities were significantly higher than those in the simple type 2 diabetes group of the same nationality.Hb A1 c and FINS in type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque group were significantly higher than those in type 2 diabetes group, and glycosylated hemoglobin in type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque group was significantly higher than that in type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque group.(5)There was no statistically significant difference in TCH among the four groups(P>0.05);LDL and TG in type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaques in Tibetan and Han nationalities were significantly higher than thosein the same ethnic group without plaques, and HDL was significantly lower than that in the same ethnic group without plaques.(6)BMI,LDL,SF,and TG were independent risk factors in the Tibetan type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque group, and HDL and UIBC were protective factors.(7)TG,LDL,and SF were independent risk factors for type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque group in Han Chinese, and HDL and UIBCwere protective factors.Conclusion:(1)SF was an independent risk factor for type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque in Tibetan and Han nationalities in Qinghai, and the overall level of SF in the Tibetan group was higher than that in the Han group.(2)Abnormal lipid metabolism is an independent risk factor for type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaques in Tibetan and Han nationalities in Qinghai.(3)The risk factors of type 2 diabetes with dorsalis pedis artery plaque in Tibetan and Han nationalities in Qinghai area are generally consistent with the risk factors of cardiovascular events, and SF is an independent risk factor. Therefore, this study suggests that SF levels can also be classified into the traditional risk factors of cardiovascular events when early intervention is performed in clinical practice.
