Objective To explore the influential factors of surgical efficacy and prognosis of patients with cervical hyperextension injury, and to provide a basis for selecting appropriate treatment methods for this type of patients,in order to reduce the disability rate and related complications in these patients. Methods A retrospective analysis of 70 patients with cervical spine hyperextension who were admitted to the spine orthopedics department of the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from January 2010 to December 2016.There were 70 males and 10 females, aged 20-74 years(mean age 49.04 years old).),Of the 70 patients,25 had single-segment injuries,22 had double-segment injuries, and 23 had multiple-segment injuries.Collect clinical data such as gender, age,MRI T2 changes in spinal cord signals, preoperative cervical spine function score, preoperative ASIA classification, hormone use, number of injured segments, etc.,and use SPSS22.0 to logistically influence the prognostic factors Regression analysis identified the effects of many factors on their prognosis. One disc injury in 25 cases(group A),two or more than two but three intervertebral disc injury within 22cases(group B),multiple segmental cervical spine stenosis(> 3)23 cases(group C),the operation time, intraoperative blood loss evaluation surgical trauma, comparing the JOA score of different time points, the cervical vertebra NDI situation, clear operation curative effect. The surgical time and intraoperative blood loss were used to evaluate the surgical trauma, and the JOA score and cervical NDI status at different time points were compared to determine the surgical efficacy. Results According to logistics regression analysis, preoperative JOA score(OR value:0.688,95%CI: 0.490-0.966,P 0.031)and preoperative NDI(OR value: 1.224,95%CI:1.078-1.389,P value: 0.002)were independently correlated with the prognosis of the disease(P?0.05).Among them,25 patients had one disc injury(group A),22 patients had two or more but less than three disc injuries(group B),23 patients had different operation time and intraoperative blood loss(group C),and JOA score and NDI were improved among different groups.(p 0.05)or less. Conclusion JOA and NDI before surgery are independent factors affecting the prognosis of patients.Surgical treatment can improve patients' spinal cord function and neck function.
