Etiological Analysis Of 252 Cases Of Vertigo In Neurology Department

Objective To retrospectively study the clinical data of 252 vertigo patients admitted to the Department of Neurology,analyze the composition ratio of various vertigo diseases,and analyze and understand the multiple causes of vertigo in order to diagnose and treat vertigo related diseases in our hospital for reference.Methods From November 2016 to November 2019,252 patients with vertigo as the main complaint and complete clinical data were treated in neurology department of general hospita of Ningxia medical university,and their clinical data and etiology were collected and analyzed.Results Among the 252 patients,132 were male(n = 132,52.4%),120 were female(n= 120,47.6%),and 32 were aged 18-44(n = 32 12.7%).There were 139 cases between the ages of 45 and 64(n = 139 52.0%),were 81 cases between the ages of 65 and 80(n=8135.3%).The average age was 58.72 ± 11.80 years old.The overall etiology was as follows:central vertigo(n = 118 46.8).%),Peripheral dizziness(n = 93 36.9%),unknown etiology(n= 29 11.5%),mental dizziness(n = 12 4.8%).The specific causes are as follows: 118 cases of dizziness caused by cerebrovascular disease(n = 118 46.8%),81 cases of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(n = 81 32.1%),the etiology is not clear in 29 cases(n = 29 11.5%),12 cases of mental-related dizziness(n = 12 4.8%),7 cases of Meniere's disease(n = 7 2.8%),2cases of vestibular migraine(n = 2 0.8%),2 cases of vestibular neuronitis(n = 2 0.8%),and 1case of sudden deafness with vertigo(n = 1 0.4%).Conclusion 1.The common causes of hospitalized vertigo patients are: acute cerebral infarction,benign paroxysmal positional vertigo,and mental-related dizziness;2.Male patients with vertigo in cerebrovascular disease were more common in the hospitalized vertigo patients,female patients with aural vertigo were more common in the hospitalized vertigo patient.3.In patients with vertigo caused by cerebrovascular disease,solitary vertigo cerebral infarction is more common in cerebellar infarction.4.Semi-circular canal lesions are most common in benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
