Analysis About Clinical Features Of 49 Cases Of Adult Measles

Objective The aim of this study is to by analyzing the clinical data of in-patient adult measles patients admitted in our hospital in the past ten years,49 cases of positive measles serum specific IgM antibody were selected,and their characteristics and clinical manifestations were analyzed to provide a basis for the elimination and improvement of diagnosis and treatment experience in the region.Methods This is a retrospective descriptive study(from January 2008 up to February2018),which are composed of 49 patients from NingXia Medical University General Hospital.We have analysised Age,sex,onset season,Laboratory indicators,immunization history,clinical manifestations,imaging and complications,prognosis,treatment of these patients.Results Retrospective analysis of 49 patients with positive IgM antibodies specifi c for measles determined by laboratory ELISA test.There were 21 males and 28 fem ales,with a male-to-females ratio of 0.75 to 1.The most patients were 18 to 38 years old,and the mean age was 29.96±10.02;The popular season is mainly from march t o June.Patients mostly were farmers and unemployed people,with a total of 24(48.98%).The clinical manifestations are mainly fever and rash.Most patients are accompan ied by cough,pharyngeal pain and other symptoms of upper respiratory tract catarrh.Some patients have conjunctival congestion,tearing,runny nose,nausea,vomiting,abd ominal pain,diarrhea.22 cases(44.9%)had measles oral mucosal plaques.The main complication was liver damage,with 41 cases(83.67%).Forty-three(87.76%)patients had an ominous history of measles vaccination.and Forty-one(83.67%)patients had an o minous history of measles exposure.Routine blood tests in the laboratory suggest thatlymphocyte elevation is predominant,and biochemical routines suggest liver function impairment.Imaging examination revealed 10 cases(20.41%)of patients with pneumo nia.Treatment:Ribavirin antiviral conventional treatment is the main method.Prognosis:All 49 patients were cured without death.Conclusion Looking back at the adult measles patients admitted to our hospital in the past10 years,49 cases of positive IgM antibodies were confirmed.The main clinical manifestations are fever and rash,the occupations are mostly farmers and unemployed people,and the complications are more common in liver damage.some cases are associated with pneumonia,bronchitis,and there are no cases of encephalitis.Ribavirin antiviral therapy is the mainstay,all cases are cured,and the overall prognosis is good.
