Clinical Observation Of The Modified Xuanqingdaozhuo Decoction In Treating Functional Constipation With Damp-heat

Objective: In this clinical study,to observe the clinical efficacy of the Modified Xuanqingdaozhuo Decoction for damp-heat syndrome of functional constipation by setting up control group,so as to provide guidance for the treatment of the functional constipation with damp-heat.Methods: From December 2018 to December 2019,60 patients with functional constipation of damp-heat syndrome were collected,who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group.30 cases in each group.Patients in treatment group were treated with the Modified Xuanqingdaozhuo Decoction,and the other group taken Lactulose.The course of treatment lasted for 4 weeks.Patients were followed up at 2 weeks after accomplishment of therapy.The proportion of patients SCBM?3,the cardinal symptoms' individual scores,the total scores of TCM symptoms and PAC-QOL were observed.The clinical efficacy,long-term curative effect of constipation and adverse reactions were evaluated.Finally,analysis the data by spss 23 software.Result: The patients of two groups were successfully completed the treatment,60 patients of functional constipation with damp-heat were collected.After statistical testing,there were no statistical differences in age,gender,duration of disease and the proportion of SCBM?3,the cardinal symptoms' individual scores,the total scores of TCM symptoms and PAC-QOL.(1)The proportion of SCBM?3: During the 1-2 weeks,the proportion of patients with SCBM?3 between the two groups were 30% and 33.33% respectively.During the 3-4 weeks,the results of the treatment group and the control group were 46.67% and 40% separately.At different period,the differences fell short of statistical significance(P>0.05),showing there was similar effects in improving the frequency of defecation between two groups.(2)The cardinal symptoms' individual scores: By statistical comparison,the cardinal symptoms were improved of the two groups after the therapy(P < 0.05).The Modified Xuanqingdaozhuo Decoction group was improved better than the Lactulose group in the single symptoms of sticky stool,incomplete defecation,fluency defecation,abdominaldistension(P<0.05),while there were no obvious differences in both groups in the time and frequency of defecation.(3)The total scores of TCM symptoms and PAC-QOL: By statistical comparison,the TCM symptoms and PAC-QOL were improved of the two groups after the therapy(P<0.05),and the degree of the Modified Xuanqingdaozhuo Decoction group was obviously superior to Lactulose group(P<0.05).(4)Clinical efficacy and long-term curative effect: Following 4 weeks of the treatment,total effectiveness of the group with the Modified Xuanqingdaozhuo Decoction was 90%,while the Lactulose group was76.67%,the Modified Xuanqingdaozhuo Decoction group was superior to Lactulose group(P<0.05)in distribution of efficacy.After 2 weeks follow-up,the recurrence rate of Modified Xuanqingdaozhuo Decoction group and Lactulose group were11.11% and 34.78% respectively,the recurrence rate in the Modified Xuanqingdaozhuo Decoction group was lower than that in the Lactulose group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(5)Safety indicators: Before and after the treatment,there were no obvious abnormality in liver and kidney function,blood routine,urine routine,stool routine and ECG of the two groups.There were no adverse effects in the process of the medication,the study was reliable and safe.Conclusion:(1)The Modified Xuanqingdaozhuo Decoction effectively increases the patients' frequency of defecation with functional constipation of Damp-heat syndrome.(2)The Modified Xuanqingdaozhuo Decoction has the superior efficacy in the single symptoms of sticky stool,incomplete defecation,fluency defecation and abdominal distension.(3)The Modified Xuanqingdaozhuo Decoction has the superior therapeutic efficacy in improved the TCM clinical symptoms and the quality of life in patients with functional constipation of Damp-heat syndrome.(4)The Modified Xuanqingdaozhuo Decoction is more effective and has less recurrence rate and higher safety,it is worthy of further clinical practice.
