Efficacy And Safety Of Adenoidectomy Combined With Tympanostomy In The Treatment Of Children With Secretory Otitis Media: A Meta-analysis

Objective:To analyze the efficacy and safety of adenoidectomy combined with tympanostomy in the treatment of secretory otitis media in children.Methods:Through electronic retrieval of PubMed,MEDLINE,Cochrane,EMBASE,CBM,Wanfang database,China HowNet,and Weipu information resource system,the system has collected relevant literature on the clinical randomized controlled study of adenoidectomy combined with tympanic tube catheterization in the treatment of secretory otitis media since the database was established until September 2019,using the Risk of Bias Table standard provided in the Cochrane-hand-book to evaluate the quality of the documents that meet the inclusion criteria,and using the Review Manager(version5.3)for meta analysis qualitative inspection,and draw a forest map.Results:A total of 1429 patients were enrolled in 11 randomized controlled studies.Meta-analysis results showed that: compared with tympanic membrane catheterization alone,combined adenoidectomy significantly improved the overall response rate for secretory otitis media [OR=4.47,95%CI =(3.24,6.17),Z =9.11,P<0.05].It also reduced the recurrence rate after treatment [OR=2.56,95%CI=(1.65,3.98),Z=4.14,P<0.05].Reduced incidence of adverse reactions [OR=3.44,95%CI=(2.17,5.46),Z=5.24,P<0.05].Conclusion:The use of adenoidectomy combined with tympanic tube placement in patients with secretory otitis media can improve the effectiveness of treatment,reduce the recurrence rate after cure,reduce the incidence of adverse reactions,and provide a basis for diagnosis and treatment for clinicians and patients.
