With the development of bio-materials,more and more bio-materials used in clinical treatment.Compared glass ionomer cement,amalgam,calcium hydroxide,and other traditional materials with mineral trioxide aggregate and iRoot,they have advantages of good biocompatibility,sealing ability and antibacterial ability,formation of dentin bridge,so that MTA and iRoot play an important role in endodontic diseases treatment.Compared with MTA,iRoot does not change the color of teeth,so both MTA and iRoot in the posterior area are better choices.However,iRoot is recommended in the aesthetic area of anterior teeth.In the treatment of endodontic diseases,the concept of minimally invasive endodontics should be followed to preserve the living pulp and the affected tooth as far as possible.The living pulp preserved in young permanent teeth is very important for the root development.Preservation of the living pulp in mature permanent teeth can improve the long-term preservation rate of teeth.And also can reduce the risk of future dental fractures.For the teeth with furcation perforated,bio-materials can be used to repair the teeth.In case 1,cariously expose of the pulp occurred in the anterior teeth with abnormal dental morphology,and the pulp was directly covered with iRoot BP Plus to preserve the living pulp.And discusse the treatment of geminated teeth,talon cusp,and resin restoration with stamp technique.In case 2,multiple furcal perforations were found in the tooth,which was repaired with MTA to preserve the tooth.And discusse the methods of furcal perforation repair,the sequence of clinical operations,and the prognostic factors of furcal perforation repair.Case 3 is a case of pulpotomy with iRoot BP Plus on mature permanent tooth with cariously exposed.And discusse the prognostic factors related to pulpotomy.Case 4 is MTA directly and indirectly pulp capping to preserve the living pulp.And discusse the advantages of resin inlay restoration after root canal treatment.The four cases reported in this paper were treated with the common bio-material MTA and iRoot in domestic clinical practice,including pulp capping,pulpotomy and furcal perforation repair,so as to achieve the minimally invasive endodontics concept of preservation of living pulp and affected teeth.
