Objective To analyze clinical efficacyof endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography(ERCP)-guided intracavitary radiofrequency ablation(RFA)combined with stent implantation in treat-ment of malignant obstructive jaundice. Methods The clinical data of 50 patients with malignant obstructive jaundice were analyzed retrospectively. They were divided into two groups.Among them,28 patients in the combined group were treated by radio-frequency ablation combined with stent placement. The other 22 patients was stent group. The recovery of liver function before and after operation, patency rate of stent, survival rate and complication rate were analyzed to evaluate the clinical effect. Results The liver function of the two groups take a turn for the better. But there was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).The combined group's patency rate of stent in 1 / 3 / 6 month after operation was 96.4% / 89.3%/78.6% and the survival rate was 96.4%/89.3% / 82.1%.While the stent group was 90.1% / 77.3% / 40.9% and90.1% / 81.2% / 45.5% respectively. The patency rate and survival rate of patients in the combined group were significantly higher than those in the stent group at 6 months postoperatively(Comparison of stent patency rate: c 2 =7.42,P<0.05?Comparison of survival rate: c 2 =27.13,P<0.05).Conciusion Endoscopic retrograde radiofrequency ablation combined with stent placement in the treatment of malignant obstructive jaundice patients has a significant effect, which can improve the patency rate and survival rate of stent. It is an effective palliative treatment for those who lose the opportunity of radical surgery or are unwilling or not suitable for radical surgery.
