Objective:To investigate the clinical value of serum IgA/C3 ratio of IgA nephropathy. Methods:From February 2011 to October 2018,five hundred and thirty patients with IgA nephropathy and 615 patients with other primary glomerular disease were collected from the Department of Nephrology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University.IgA and C3 in serum were detected, and the IgA/C3 ratio was calculated. The pathological grades of the renal biopsy samples from patients with IgA nephropathy was according to Oxford and Lee's classification criteria. The value of serum IgA,serum C3,and IgA/C3 ratio in predicting IgA nephropathy.was analyzed by the ROC curve. Results:The serum IgA and serum IgA/C3 ratio in IgA nephropathy group were significantly higher than those in non-IgA nephropathy group(p<0.05),with an area under the ROC curve of 0.744 and 0.757 respectively.Serum IgA/C3 ratio and serum IgA level had no significant correlation with the pathological grade of renal biopsy samples in patients with IgA nephropathy. Conclusion : In the absence of renal biopsy findings,Serum IgA/C3?2.63 and serum IgA?2.34 can be used as indicators to assist the diagnosis of IgA nephropathy, but not as indicators to predict the severity of renal pathology in IgA nephropathy.
