Objective: Clinical study on different courses of venlafaxine in the treatment of central-mediated abdominal pain syndrome.Methods: One-hundred and twenty patients with central mediated abdominal pain syndrome,were randomly divided into A,B,C,D four groups,which were separately received venlafaxine hydrochloride 75 mg qd for one,three,six and nine months.The Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA)score and visual analogue scale(VAS)were performed in all patients before,after and six months after the treatment.Results: 1)the four groups after venlafaxine treatment,HAMA scores decreased to different degrees compared with that before treatment.Compared with group A,HAMA scores of group B showed no difference(P > 0.05),and HAMA scores of group C and D was significantly lower than that of group A(P < 0.05),while the difference between groups C and D was not statistically significant(P > 0.05).2)VAS scores of patients in the four groups after venlafaxine treatment were significantly lower than that before treatment except group A(P < 0.05),among which group B,C and D were significantly lower than that in group A(P < 0.05).3)sixmonths after the drug withdrawal,HAMA scores in group A were significantly increased compared with the end of treatment(P < 0.05),HAMA and VAS scores in group B were significantly increased compared with the end of treatment(P < 0.05),while HAMA and VAS scores in group C and D were not significantly changed compared with the end of treatment(P > 0.05).Conclusion: The 6 months course of venlafaxine treated central mediated abdominal pain syndrome is worthy of clinical promotion for its economic efficiency,curative effect and low recurrence rate.
