Study On Distribution Law And Relative Factors Of TCM Constitution For Elderly With Cognitive Frailty In Fuzhou

Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the Constitution of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)of elderly population with Cognitive Frailty(CF)in fuzhou,and to explore the relationship between the distribution characteristics of TCM constitution and relevant factors,so as to provide theoretical basis for clinicians to prevent and cure Cognitive Frailty in traditional Chinese medicine.Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted to collect the information of the(TCM)and related factors from 469 elderly patients with cognitive frailty in Fuzhou,and by chi-square test,multi-factor Logistic regression analysis to comprehensively analyze the distribution characteristics of TCM constitution and the relationship between the influencing factors in elderly with CF.Results:1.Among 469 elderly CF patients,98(20.9%)had calm constitution and 371(79%)had biased constitution.The main types of biased constitution were phlegm-dampness constitution(27.9%),yin-deficiency constitution(17.5%)and yang-deficiency constitution(11.7%),followed by blood stasis constitution(7.7%),qi-deficiency constitution(5.1%),damp-heat constitution(3.6%),qi-stagnation constitution(2.8%)and special endowment constitution(2.8%).2.In contrast to the calm constitution,the chi-square test results of eight kinds of biased constitution showed that there were significant differences between the distribution of TCM constitution and sex,education level,BMI,history of hypertension,personality,meat consumption,alcohol consumption,regular exercise and occupation(P<0.05);there was no significant difference between Chinese medicine constitution with age,diabetes,Hyperlipidemia,smoking,sendentary,daily activity time,dietary taste and egg consumption(P ?0.05).3.The results of Logistic Regression Analysis: taking calm constitution as a control:(1)Compared with body mass index(BMI)<24,BMI ? 24(? =1.354,OR = 3.874(95% CI1.336 ~ 11.238))was positively correlated with Qi deficiency constitution;compared with meat consumption ? 200 g,the meat consumption < 100g(? =-2.228,OR = 0.108,(95% CI0.023 ~ 0.506))was negatively correlated with Qi deficiency consumption;compared with moderate personality,introversion(? = 1.395,OR= 4.036(95%CI 1.267 ~ 12.585))was positively correlated with qi deficiency constitution.(2)Compared with those without history of hypertension,with history of hypertension(? =-1.096,OR = 0.334(95% CI 0.150 ~ 0.744))was negatively correlated with Yang deficiency constitution;compared with the no-drinking,alcohol-drinking(? =-1.287,OR = 0.276(95% CI 0.104 ~ 0.736))was negatively correlated with Yang deficiency constitution.(3)Extroversion(? =-0.937,OR = 0.392(95% CI0.176 ~ 0.873))was negatively correlated with Yin deficiency constitution.(4)Compared with BMI< 24,BMI ? 24(? =2.903,OR = 18.238(95% CI 9.005 ~ 36.938))were positively correlated with phlegm-dampness constitution.(5)Compared with BMI < 24,BMI ? 24(?=0.941,OR = 2.561(95% CI 1.036 ~ 6.335))were positively correlated with blood stasis constitution;compared with without hypertension history,hypertension history(? =0.826,OR= 2.284(95% CI 1.034 ~ 5.046))showed positive correlation with blood stasis constitution;compared with moderate personality,extroverted personality(? =-1.876,OR = 0.153(95% CI0.040 ~ 0.581))was negatively correlated with blood stasis constitution.(6)Compared with physical labor,mental labor((? =1.694,OR = 5.439(95% CI 1.135 ~ 26.059))had a positive correlation with special endowment constitution;compared with without regular exercise,regular exercise(? =-2.127,OR = 0.119(95% CI 0.031 ~ 0.458))showed a negative correlation with special endowment constitution.Conclusions:1.The TCM constitution type of elderly with cognitive frailty in Fuzhou is mainly biased physique.The most common types of biased constitution are phlegm dampness constitution,yin-deficiency constitution and yang-deficiency constitution,while other biased constitutions are less.2.The distribution characteristics of TCM constitution of the aged with cognitive frailty were related to sex,education level,BMI,hypertension history,personality,meat consumption,drinking,regular exercise and occupational working style.3.Low meat consumption,low BMI and extroversion are protective factors for qi deficiency constitution;alcohol consumption and hypertension are protective factors of Yang deficiency constitution.Extroversion are the protective factors of Yin deficiency constitution.Low BMI is a protective factor for phlegm-dampness constitution.Low BMI and extroversion are protective factors for blood stasis constitution.Regular exercise and physical labor are protective factors of special constitution.
