Objective:In this study,we aimed to explore the therapeutic effect of Chunze decoction combined with oral administration of methazolamide tablets on macular edema after phacoemulsification(PHACO).Methods:A total of 59 eligible patients(60 eyes)were randomly divided into the treatment group(29 cases and 30 eyes)and the control group(30 cases and 30 eyes).Patients in the treatment group were treated with Chunze decoction combined with oral administration of metazolamide tablets, while patients in the control group were orally administered with metazolamide tablets.Afterwards, the best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and central macular thickness(CMT)were compared two groups before treatment, one month after treatment and three months after treatment. And TCM syndrome scores were compared two groups before treatment and three months after treatment.Finally,SPSS23.0 software was used for statistical analysis, and P<0.05 was considered as statistically significant.Results:1.Before treatment, gender, age,BCVA,CMT and TCM syndrome scores were not significantly different between the two groups(P>0.05).2.After treatment for one month,BCVA was significantly improved than that before treatment in both groups(P<0.05),however,BCVA after treatment for one month was not significantly different between two groups(P>0.05).After treatment for three months,BCVA was further and significantly improved than that before in both groups(P<0.05).In addition,BCVA was significantly different after treatment for three months compared to that treatment for one month or before treatment in patients from the treatment group(P<0.05).In patients from the control group,BCVA was significantly different after treatment for three months compared to that before treatment(P<0.05),but was not significantly different from that after treatment for one month(P>0.05).3.CMT was significantly decreased after treatment for one month or three months in both groups(P<0.05).Additionally,the intervention factors interacted with treatment time in both groups(F=9.489,P<0.05).The overall trend of CMT decline after treatment in the treatment group was superior to the control group. After treatment for one month,CMT was not significantly different between two groups(P>0.05);while after treatment for three months,CMT was significantly different between two groups(P<0.05).4.After treatment for three month, the effective rate of the treatment group was 76.6%,and the effective rate of the control group was 50.0%.In addition, the effective rate was significantly different between two groups(P<0.05),with superior overall efficacy of the treatment group than the control group.5.After treatment for three month, the TCM syndrome scores of both groups were significantly improved(P<0.05),and the treatment group was better than the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).The total effective rate was 76.6% in the treatment group and 46.6% in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Compared with simple oral administration of acetazolamide tablets,Chunze decoctioncombined with oral administration acetazolamide tablets could more effectively improve patients' vision, decrease CMT,attenuate the degree of macular edema and improve the clinical symptoms of TCM.2.With the prolonged therapeutic course, the superior effects of Chunze decoction combined with oral administration of methazolamide tablets than simple oral administration of methazolamide tablets was more obvious, which could more effectively control the disease to shorten macular edema course after PHACO.
