Objective:This study aimed to observe the regularity of the voice recovery and the arytenoid motion in patients with arytenoid dislocation after closed reduction,to provide reference data for developing effective therapeutic strategy of the procedure.Material and Methods:Thirty-one patients with arytenoid dislocation were submitted by the Department of Otolaryngology, the Second Affiliated Hospital,School of Medicine,Zhejiang University from September 2017 to April 2019.Results of personal profile(age, gender),cause of disease, flexible laryngoscope and/or videostroboscopy,CT scan reports, voice handicap index(VHI),GRBAS scale, acoustic voice analysis results(Fundamental frequency(F0),Jitter%,Shimmer%,Glottis noise excitation ratio(GNE%),Maximum phonation time(MPT),operation record and the course of the disease were reviewed retrospectively. Results:Among the 31 patients recruited in the study, all patients regained a normal voice and arytenoid motion after the closed reduction.Among the thirty-one patients, their VHI scores,F0,jitter%,shimmer%,GNE%,MPT and GRBAS scale(G,R,B,A)improved significantly(p<0.05),but there was no statistically significant difference for GRBAS Scale(S)(p>0.05).The duration between last closed reduction and the restoring normal voice ranged from 1-8 days, with a mean of 4.65± 0.57 days,at the same time the arytenoid motion was completely recovered.Conclusions:1.Closed reduction under surface anaesthesia for patients with arytenoid dislocation is an effective procedure.2.The voice quality and arytenoid motion were obviously improved, but did not completely return to normal after the last closed reduction.Closed reduction again at this point may result in re-dislocation.3.The patients'voice and arytenoid motion were fully restored in 4.65±0.57 days(4.08th?5.22th day,at a confidence level of 95%)after the last closed reduction.
