Objective Based on the preoperative information needs of rectal cancer patients, construct preoperative visit content standards for rectal cancer patients, and provide a strong theoretical basis for targeted preoperative visits; The AIDET communication model was used to conduct an empirical study on preoperative visit contents of rectal cancer patients, and to investigate its intervention effect on preoperative adverse stress response in rectal cancer patients.Methods(1)Literature review and analysis, full review of existing literature to understand the development and current status of preoperative visit contents and patients' preoperative information needs.(2)The objective sampling method was used to select 9 patients with rectal cancer who met the inclusion requirements and volunteered to participate in a third-grade hospital in Inner Mongolia for semi-structured interview,so as to deeply understand the preoperative emotion and information needs of rectal cancer patients.(3)Based on the colorectal cancer diagnosis and treatment norms and guidelines, combined with literature reviews and the results of interviews with information needs of colorectal cancer patients,a preliminary draft of "Content Standards for Preoperative Visits to Patients with Rectal Cancer" was drafted,by using Delphi method to write two rounds of experts, according to experts importance assignment combines expert advice and screening index to comb the content, the "content standard for preoperative visits to patients with rectal cancer" was initially formed;(4)86 patients diagnosed with rectal cancer in a tertiary hospital in Inner Mongolia were selected as the research object. The control group used the routine visit content based on the AIDET communication mode, and the test group adopted the "preoperative visit content standard for rectal cancer patients" with AIDET communication mode to observe the intervention effects of sleep status, heart rate, systolic blood pressure, anxiety score and patient satisfaction in two groups of patients.Results(1)Semi-structured interview of rectal cancer patients: After the analysis of the interview data, six topics of preoperative information needs of rectal cancer patients were extracted: preoperative attention information, operating room environmental information, surgical process information, and feeling/ discomfort information, surgical prognosis information, psychological support needs.(2)Expert consultation: The recovery rates of the two rounds of questionnaires were 89% and 100% respectively;the expert authority coefficient was between 0.8-0.95 and the overall authority coefficient was 0.89;the coordination coefficient ranges for the two rounds of letter inquiry experts were 0.177-0.281.The differences were statistically significant after chi-square test, and eventually formed the "Content Standard for Preoperative Visits of Rectal Cancer Patients" including 3 primary indicators,17 secondary indicators, and 69 tertiary indicators.(3)Empirical research: 86 subjects completed all data collection. There was no statistically significant difference in general demographic data(P> 0.05);The sleep quality score of the test group before anesthesia was 3(3-5)points lower than that of the control group 5(4-6)points.The higher the score, the worse the sleep quality, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05);There was no statistically significant difference in heart rate, systolic blood pressure, and anxiety score between the two groups before the visit(P > 0.05),but the above indexes in the test group before anesthesia after admission were all smaller than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);The score of patients' satisfaction in the experimental group(19.63±0.78)was greater than that in the control group(17.40±1.75),and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusion(1)Through semi-structured interview and Delphi method, the content standard of preoperative visit for rectal cancer patients was established, including 3first-level indicators,17 second-level indicators and 69 third-level indicators.Thecontent standard met the preoperative information needs of rectal cancer patients, and the results were scientific and reliable.(2)The standard of preoperative visit contents for patients with rectal cancer based on AIDET communication mode can improve the length of sleep before surgery for patients with rectal cancer, decrease the amplitude of changes in heart rate and systolic blood pressure, and reduce the degree of anxiety of the patient and improve patient satisfaction.
