Objective: Through a case report and the review of the cases repo rted in Chinese literature,we summarize the clinical characteristics,diagn osis and treatments of nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome so as to f acilitate dermatologists to diagnose and manage this condition properly.Methods: Report a case treated in our dermatological department and c ollect previously reported cases of NBCCS by searching Chinese databa nks including: CNKI(1979-2019),WANFANG MED ONLINE(1998-2019).We collect patients' gender,age,clinical manifestations,course of dis ease,histopathological examination.Results: We report a case that was diagnosed and treated in our department in this article.A female patient,52 years old,had many brown rashes on the head and face more than 18 years.Pathology result: basal cell carcinoma.In the past,multiple s urgical treatments were performed for the recurrence of mandible cyst,h istopathology returns: epidermoid cyst.Combining the clinical features,pa st history and histopathology,she was diagnosed with NBCCS.This arti cle retrospectively analyzes 24 cases of NBCCS reported in the literatur es over the past 40 years and our case.We summarize the following c haracteristics: there is no significant difference in the incidence of men and women;it is common in middle-aged and elderly people;it has a variety of clincal manifestations,including basal cell carcinoma,odontog enic keratosis cyst,palmar pit,etc;there is currently no unified treatme nt.Conclusions: The diagnosis needs to be combined with medical hist ory,clinical manifestations,auxiliary examinations and so on.It also req uries the joint participation of Dermatology,Stomatology,Ophthalmology and other disciplines.
