Objective:To investigate the risk factors of moderate anemia in elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures. Methods:Retrospectively analyze the clinical data of the elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures treated in our hospital from June 2017 to June 2018,and divided them into A(moderate anemia before surgery)and B(no moderate anemia occurred before surgery)2 groups. The gender, age, fracture side, medical comorbidity and fracture classification of the two groups were recorded and analyzed statistically. Results:A total of 186 cases were included,of which 50 were male and 136 were female;43 were 65-75 years old,87 were 76-85 years old,56 were 86 years old and above;90 were left fractures,86 were right fractures; There were 86 cases of blood pressure disease,37 cases with diabetes, and 41 cases with cerebrovascular disease;79 cases were type 31A1,99 cases were 31A2,and 8 cases were 31A3.There were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of gender, fracture side, medical comorbidities, and fracture classification. However, the age of the patients in group A was greater than that in group B,and the gap was statistically significant(P <0.05).Conclusion:Anemia is a common perioperative complication of intertrochanteric fractures in the elderly. It is now clear that perioperative anemia can increase the risk of postoperative infection and death, and prolong hospital stay. This study found that age is a risk factor for moderate anemia in elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fractures,so special attention should be paid to blood management in elderly patients in clinical practice.
