Objective To investigate the prevalence of diabetes in Inner Mongolia in 2015 and 2018,analyze and compare the trends of diabetes and its influencing factors, and provide theoretical basis for formulating accurate strategies for diabetes prevention and control in Inner Mongolia. Methods A multi-stage sampling method was used to randomly select residents over 18 years old from 8 monitoring sites in Inner Mongolia. The contents of the survey were divided into questionnaire survey, physical measurement and laboratory test. The questionnaire mainly investigates the basic demographic information, eating habits, behavioral characteristics and the situation related to chronic diseases.Physical measurements are taken to measure a person's waist circumference, blood pressure, height and weight. The information about blood lipid and blood glucose was obtained by laboratory test. The survey data were used to describe the prevalence of diabetes in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the risk factors of diabetes were analyzed by binary logistic regression, and the main risk factors affecting diabetes and the self-management of diabetes patients were compared between 2015 and 2018.Results This study investigated 5018 residents aged 18 and above in Inner Mongolia in 2015 and 5118 residents aged 18 and above in 2018.There was no difference in age, gender or regional population distribution between the two years(?2=9.350,P>0.05??2=0.535,P>0.05??2=3.177,P>0.05).Compared with 2015,2018 residents smoking, alcohol consumption rate were decreased(?2=12.614,P<0.05??2=17.800,P<0.05),daily sleep time is insufficient and insufficiency of fruits and vegetables is improved(?2=20.227,P<0.05??2=526.595,P<0.05),but the decrease of strength of 2018 survey population physical activity, daily static time exposure rate rising and red meat intake excessive exposure rate(?2=43.875,P<0.05??2=57.978,P<0.05??2=768.693,P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in secondhand smoke exposure rates between 2015 and 2018(?2=0.918,P>0.05).Compared with 2015,the central obesity rate, overweight obesity rate and impaired glucose regulation rate of the survey population showed an increasing trend in 2018,while the hypertension control rate and dyslipidemia rate all decreased, with statistically significant differences(?2=64.028,P<0.05)?(?2=4.786,P<0.05)?(?2=143.88,P<0.05)?(?2=93.094,P<0.05)?(?2=31.312,P<0.05).In 2015 and 2018,the standard prevalence of diabetes was 7.7%and 13.0%,respectively,showing an upward trend. The results of multivariate Logistic regression analysis of diabetes in the survey population in 2015 showed that the independent influencing factors were:Age:middle-aged and elderly(OR=2.754,95%CI=1.856?4.086,OR=3.999,95%CI=2.586?6.185),smoking(OR=1.417,95%CI=1.076?1.866),overweight obesity(OR=1.557,95%CI=1.119?2.167,OR=1.776,95%CI=1.187?2.657),and central obesity(OR=1.847,95%CI=1.379?2.474),hypertension(OR=1.740,95%CI=1.358?2.230),and dyslipidemia(OR=2.329,95%CI=1.818?2.983).The results of multivariate Logistic regression analysis of diabetes in the survey population in 2018 showed that the independent risk factors were:Age:male(OR=1.289,95%CI=1.036?1.604),middle-aged and elderly(OR=2.267,95%CI=1.619?3.175;OR=2.975,95%CI=2.065-4.287),overweight obese(OR=1.447,95%CI=1.131?1.851,OR=1.470,95%CI=1.074?2.012),central obese(OR=1.458,95%CI=1.159?1.836),hypertension(OR=1.512,95%CI=1.256?1.820)and dyslipidemia(OR=1.871,95%CI=1.562?2.242).The comparison of the control of major risk factors in diabetes patients in 2015 and 2018 showed that the prevalence of hypertension and dyslipidemia in diabetes patients in 2018 decreased compared with 2015(?2=17.667,P<0.05,?2=20.252,P<0.05),while the difference between central obesity and overweight BMI was not statistically significant(?2=2.047,P>0.05,?2=2.338,P>0.05).In 2015 and 2018 with diabetes management related situation is,according to the results of 2018 patients with diabetes blood sugar control, blood sugar monitoring and diabetes treatment from 2015 annual rises(?2=144.161,P<0.05,?2=5.928,P<0.05,?2=4.531,P<0.05),but in 2015 and 2018 diabetic patients there was no statistically significant difference of awareness(?2=1.779,P>0.05).Conclusion(1)The total prevalence of diabetes in Inner Mongolia autonomous region is increasing.(2)Overweight and obesity in the general population and the increased rate of impaired sugar regulation increase the high-risk population of diabetes.(3)The control of hypertension and dyslipidemia in both the general population and diabetic patients was improved.(4)The problems of smoking, drinking, sleep and insufficient intake of fruits and vegetables in the lifestyle of the general population were improved, while the deficiency of effective activities and excessive consumption of red meat were aggravated.(5)The weight control of diabetic patients has not been significantly improved, and the monitoring rate, treatment rate and control rate are significantly increased. The awareness rate needs to be further improved.
