Objective:To investigate the prevalence of diabetes and its related risk factors over35years of age in quanzhou,to provide the basis for the local health authorities in theregion to make scientific decisions about effective prevention and treatment ofdiabetes.Methods:The stratified sampling and cluster sampling methods were used tocross-sectional survey in1900residents35-80years old on QianHuang Town,JingFeng Town,LuoXi Town,ShuangYang Street,LuoJiang District in QuanZhouCity. The investigation content included:①Standardized questionnaire:past andpresent medical history,smoking,drinking,tea,occupational and environmentalfactors,weight changes,mood,diet,physical activity and sleep quality.②Physicalexaminations:height,weight,waist circumference,hip circumference,bloodpressure;③Laboratory Examinations:Fasting plasma glucose,2hours plasmaglucose after oral75g glucose,transaminase,triglycerides,uric acid,creatinine,TSH and other indicators of detection.We obtained1690copies of the complete datas.Datas were statistically by using SPSS11.0software. Used X±S to indicate themeasurement data. Used chi-square test to compare the rates. Used multivariatenon-conditional Logistic regression model to analyze the risk factors. P <0.05wasconsidered statistically significant.Results:1.We put1690cases into the research, including452males and1238females.The overall mean age was52.74±11.23years,and the average age of male was54.86±11.64years,women’s average age was51.96±10.98years old. The prevalence ofdiabetes was13.96%. The prevalence of pre-diabetes was31.12%. There had65casesbeen diagnosed with diabetes previously,171cases of diabetes just the newlydetected. The detection rate was10.8%.2.The prevalence of diabetes in men,elderlypeople,widowed,solitary,retired population have significant differences. And theprevalence of different nationalities,different education groups were no significantdifference.3.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that central obesity,hypertension,high cholesterol,diabetes and smoking were major risk factors ofdiabetes.Conclusions:1.The prevalence of diabetes, pre-diabetes in Quanzhou was relativelyhigh.2.Men,elderly people,widowed,solitary,retired population are belonged to high-risk populations of diabetes.3.Control weight、blood pressure、lipidand smoking may help to reduce prevalence of diabetes.
