Objective:By comparing the clinical effect of acupuncture under the guidance of Qi Street Theory and the routine acupuncture on primary insomnia,and to find a more effective treatment for primary insomnia.Methods:In the course of the study,randomized and controlled method were conducted for 66 patients who met the diagnostic criteria,and all the resesrch objects were randomly divided into two groups:the“Qi Street Theory”acupuncture method group and the ordinary acupuncture method group.Both groups are treated for 4 weeks,5times each week,and followed up at the fourth week after the end of the courses of treatment.Then compared data of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scale,Insomnia Severity Index scale,Self-rating Depression Scale and Self-rating Anxiety scale of two groups at the time points of prior treatment,post-treatment and followed-up on the 4th week after the followed-up of course respectively,thus to compare the differences between the two groups.Results:1.There were no significant difference in sex,age,course of disease,condition and other factors between the two group,and the baseline level was comparable.2.There were significant differences in the comparison of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scale,Insomnia Severity Index scale,Self-rating Depression Scale and Self-rating Anxiety scale within two groups before and after treatment.3.Comparing two groups after the treatment.The treatment group had better improvements in falling asleep time,sleeping efficiency,daytime dysfunctio,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scale,Insomnia Severity Index scale,Self-rating Depression scale than the control group.4.Comparing two groups when the 4 week after the follow-up of treatment course.The treatment group showed improvements in sleeping efficiency,daytime dysfunctio,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scale,Insomnia Severity Index scale,Self-rating Depression scale than the control group.5.Comparing the total effective rate between the two groups:the total effective rate of the treatment group was 84.38%,and the control group was 80.65%.The differences between them had no statistically significance.6.Comparing the safety and compliance between the two groups,there were no significant difference.Conclusion:1.“Qi Street Theory”acupuncture and the ordinary acupuncture can improve patients' sleep quality,severity of insomnia,anxiety and depression when intervening in primary insomnia.2.“Qi Street Theory”acupuncture has the better efficacy in reducing sleep time,improving sleep efficiency,reducing daytime dysfunction,improving the severity of insomnia and reducing depression than the ordinary acupuncture at short-term and long-term.3.“Qi Street Theory”acupuncture and the ordinary acupuncture both have the characteristics of security and compliance.4.Qi Street theory guides acupuncture with the advantages of affirmative curative effect and high safety factor,and has clinical promotion value.
