The Comparative Study Of The Clinical Efficacy Of Visual Foraminoplasty Technique(TESSYS-I See Technique)and Classical TESSYS Technology In The Treatment Of Lateral Recess Stenosis

Objective:To investigate the difference of the safety and clinical effect between the visual foraminoplasty technique(TESSYS-I See technique)and classical TESSYS in the treatment of lateral recess stenosis.Methods:A study was conducted in the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2016 to December 2018 with L4 / 5 and L5 / S1 single segment lateral recess stenosis,who was treated with classical TESSYS technology and TESSYS-I See technology.The patients were included through the diagnostic criteria,inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria.The patients were divided into the observation group(52 cases of TESSYS-I See technology)and the control group(49 cases of classical TESSYS technology).The follow-up data of the two groups before,during and after operation were collected,and the data were statistically analyzed.Results:1.The scores of short-form of Mc-Gill pain questionnaire,LP-VAS,BP-VAS and Oswestry Disability Index in the observation group and the control group were significantly lower than those before operation(P < 0.05),there was significant difference,and the degree of pain and function were significantly improved compared with those before operation;2.In the observation group,the frequnency of fluoroscopy(7.00 ± 0.77s),the time of foraminoplasty(15.40 ± 1.62min),the dose of anesthetic(14.15 ± 1.11ml),the time of operation(71.17 ± 4.13min),and the immediately postoperative BP-VAS score(2.25 ± 0.71)were significantly different from those in the control group(P < 0.05);3.The ODI index on the 1st and the 3rd month after treatment of the observation group(17.73 ± 3.82 ?16.38 ± 2.75),there was a significant difference with he control group(P<0.05).4.The effective rate of modified macnab effect evaluation on the 1st after treatmentof the observation group(90.38%)was significantly different with the control group(69.38%)Conclusion:The classical TESSYS technology and TESSYS-I See technology are effective in the treatment of lateral recess stenosis,which can solve the pain symptoms,dysfunction and improve the quality of life.Compared with classical TESSYS technology,TESSYS-I See has the advantages of shorter radiation exposure,shorter time of foraminoplasty and operation,and lower pain level of patients during the operation.Moreover,the low back pain of visual foraminoplasty group 1-3 months after the operation is lower,and the improvement of dysfunction is better.
