Meta-analysis Of TCM On Preventing And Treating Chemotherapy-induced Diarrhea

Objective: In this paper,Meta-analysis method was used to assess the advantages and effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of Chemotherapy-induced diarrhea.Methods: All relevant randomized controlled trials of traditional Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of Chemotherapy-induced diarrhea were collected by searching Pub Med,the Cochrane Library,EMBASE,CNKI,CBM,VIP and Wanfang databases.Meta - analysis were performed with Rev Man 5.2 software after data extraction and quality evaluation by Cochrane risk-bias assessment tool.Results: Eighteen articles on the prevention of CID by traditional Chinese medicine were finally included,with a total of 1225 study patients.Meta-analysis results were as follows,CID incidence rate: OR = 0.38,95% CI = [0.29,0.48],Z = 7.57,P < 0.00001.Occurance time of CID: MD = 1.18,95% CI = [-1.02,3.37],Z =1.05,P =0.29.Duration time of CID:MD =-2.63,95% CI = [-3.38,-1.88],Z = 6.90,P<0.00001.In terms of TCM treatment of Chemotherapy-induced diarrhea,a total of 31 articles with 2151 study patients were included.Meta-analysis results were as follows: cure rate of CID:OR=4.71,95%CI=[3.64,6.10],Z=11.75,P<0.00001.KPS score: MD = 4.40,95% CI = [3.16,5.63],Z = 6.99,P < 0.00001.Onset time of CID: MD =-0.78,95% CI = [-2.59,1.02],Z = 0.85,P = 0.39.Conclusion : 1.Traditional Chinese medicine can significantly reduce the incidence of chemotherapy-induced diarrhea.2.Traditional Chinese medicine can improve the effective rate of CID treatment,improve the quality of life of chemotherapy patients.3.Internal treatment is superior to external treatment...
