Objective:To observe the curative effect and security of modified lianggesan in the treatment of infantile herpangina, evaluating the clinic value of modified lianggesan and providing a new therapeutic idea for the infantile herpangina from the Traditional Chinese Medicine. Methods:Totally 68 children diagnosed infantile herpangina and syndrome differentiated with accumulating heat in spleen and stomach pattern from Chengdu University Of TCM affiliated hospital pediatrics outpatient department, divided into the treatment group(34 cases)and the control group(34 cases)according to the random number table method.Modified lianggesan granula was given to the treatment group, while pudilan oral liquid was given to the control group, both groups were treated with a conventional symptomatic therapy, and with a course of treatment of 6d.Symptoms and signs like fever, pharyngalgia, herpes were observed during the study, and The efficacy and security were evaluated after the treatment. Results: Totally 68 cases were inc luded, each group expulsed 1 case,66 cases completely finished the study.Compared with the control subjects, there were no distinct difference among age, gender, course, symptoms before curing with the treatment subjects. There was 96.97% effective rate in the treatment group, and 81.82% in the control group after the course of treatment, appearing a statistical difference between two groups(P<0.05).After the therapy, symptoms and signs were clearly improved both two groups(P<0.05).Temperature recovery time in the treatment group was obviously shorter than the control group.Pharyngeal hyperemia, pharyngalgia, decrease of diet, halitosis, dry stool were dramatically improved in the treatment group, making a significant difference with the control group(P<0.05).In addition, there was no incidence of adverse reaction during th study. Conclusion:Both modified lianggesan and pudilan oral liquid were effective on treating infantile herpangina(syndrome differentiated with accumulating heat in spleen and stomach),the former was better in improving clinic symptoms and signs such as Pharyngeal hyperemia, pharyngalgia, decrease of diet, halitosis, dry stool.Besides, modified lianggesan has a high security, worthy of clinic application.
