Objective The purpose of this study is to explore the impairment of self-referential processing in patients with first-episode schizophrenia and the occurrence stage of eventrelated potentials and their correlation with cognitive function,to provide assistance for the early identification and diagnosis of first-episode schizophrenia. Methods The behavioral experimental data of the self-referential processing task of 93 normal control group and 79 first-episode schizophrenias are recorded with E-prime2.0 software.BP 64 EEG equipment is used to record EEG data of 49 normal control groups and 41 first-episode schizophrenias patients during self-reference processing tasks.Cognitive assessment is performed using MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery(MCCB).Results 1 Recognition score of mother-reference in the normal control group(0.350.02)was higher than that in the patient group(0.290.02,P<0.05).The self-reference(0.330.02)recognition score of the patient group is higher than that of the motherreference(0.290.02)and that of others(0.260.02,Ps<0.05).The self-reference(0.370.02)and mother-reference(0.360.02)in the control group are both higher than the recognition scores of the others(0.260.02,Ps<0.05),and there is no significant difference between the self-reference and mother-reference recognition scores in the control group(P>0.05).2 In the coding stage, both P2 and LPP amplitude of the patients group are lower than that of the control group(Ps<0.05),and there is no significant difference in LPP amplitude of the patients group under various conditions(Ps>0.05).The LPP amplitude of positive words in the patient group(23.622.74?V)is lower than that of the control group(33.872.50?V,P<0.05),the LPP amplitude of the negative words in the two groups is not significantly different(P>0.05).The LPP amplitude of the positive words in the patient group is not significantly different from that of the negative words(P>0.05),and the LPP amplitude of the positive words in the control group is higher than that of the negative words(30.692.40?V,P<0.05).3 The P2 amplitude of self-negative words in the patient group is positively correlated with speech learning and memory(r=0.309,P<0.05),while the P2 amplitude of self-reference processing in the control group is not correlated with cognitive function and its dimensions(Ps>0.05).The LPP amplitude of self-reference processing in the patient group have no correlation with the cognitive function and its dimensions(Ps>0.05),while the LPP amplitude of mother-negative words(r=0.309,P<0.05)and other-negative words(r=0.345,P<0.05)in the control group is positively correlated with social cognition. Conclusions 1 First-episode schizophrenia patients have self-reference effect, but mother-reference effect is impaired.2 First-episode schizophrenia patients induce lower P2 amplitude and LPP amplitude during self-reference processing.3 There is a relationship between self-reference processing and cognitive function, and self-referential processing can be used as an auxiliary means of cognitive assessment.Figure6;Table10;Reference 107...
