Objectives To explore the therapeutic effects of modified Morita therapy on mental symptoms, cognitive function, social function, personal living ability and metabolic indexes(blood glucose, blood lipid, blood pressure and weight)of patients with residual schizophrenia. Methods A total of 60 patients who were hospitalized in Kailuan Mental Health Center were collected.Randomly divided into study group and control group. Both the study group and the control group received conventional psychiatric drug treatment and routine psychiatric nursing. The study group added modified Morita therapy on this basis.Use the Positive and Negative Symptoms Scale(PANSS),PANSS scale reduction rate,MiniMental State Examination Scale(MMSE),Social Function Defect Screening Scale(SDSS),Daily Living Ability Scale(ADL)and metabolic indicators(Body weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipids)to evaluate the treatment effect. All data were statistically processed using SPSS20.0 software package, and P <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results After modified morita therapy, the negative PANSS scale score(F = 10.30,P = 0.002)and the total score(F = 4.360,P = 0.041)were significantly different between the study group and the control group,The negative scores and total scores of PANSS scale in the study group were significantly different before and after intervention(P < 0.05).There were significant differences in orientation(F = 4.117,P = 0.047)and language ability(F = 5.017,P = 0.029)on the MMSE scale between the study group and the control group,The orientations and language abilities of the MMSE scale in the study group were significantly different before and after the intervention(P < 0.05).Social withdrawal in the SDSS scale of the study group(?~2 =7.191,P <0.05),personal life(?~2= 6.096,P<0.05),and interest and concern for the outside world(?~2= 6.705,P<0.05)compared with the control has improved. The ADL scale scores(F = 4.766,P = 0.033)were significantly different between the study group and the control group,The ADL scale score of the study group had significant difference before and after intervention(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in the score reduction rate and metabolic index(blood glucose, blood lipid, blood pressure and body weight)of PANSS scale between the two groups. Conclusions The modified Morita therapy has improved the negative symptoms of residual schizophrenia, the directional ability and language ability in cognitive function, the social withdrawal in social function, personal self-care ability, and the interest and concern of the outside world. The PANSS scale reduction rate and metabolic indicators(blood glucose, blood lipid, blood pressure, and weight)were invalid.Figure 0;Table 10;Reference 132...
