The Role Of Pulse Wave Conduction Velocity In Predicting Blood Pressure Progression In Young People

Objective To observe the effect of pulse wave conduction velocity(brachialankle pulse wave velocity,ba PWV)on blood pressure progression in young people.Methods A cohort of Kailuan study participants aged<44 who took the third and fourth physical examinations(2010?2014)and participated in the same period of ba PWV were selected as the observation cohort.The effects of ba PWV on blood pressure and the fifth physical examination were analyzed by multivariate linear regression model,and then the effect of arteriosclerosis(ba PWV?14.00m/s)and each additional standard deviation of ba PWV on new hypertension was analyzed by multivariate Logistic regression model.Results 1 Of the 2784 subjects,the average age was 38.06±5.13 years old,2208 males(79.31%).2 In multivariate linear regression analysis,after adjusting for other confounding factors,the levels of ba PWV were not only positively correlated with baseline and follow-up blood pressure values,but also positively correlated with their differences.Each increase of 1m/s in baseline systolic pressure(SBP)and diastolic blood pressure(DBP)increased 2.01 mm Hg and 1.22 mm Hg,respectively.SBP and DBP increased 1.79 mm Hg and 0.86 mm Hg respectively,?SBP and ?DBP increased 0.58 mm Hg and 0.26 mm Hg respectively.3 In multivariate logistic regression analysis,after adjusting for other confounding factors,the risk of new hypertension in atherosclerosis population increased 2.77 times(95%CI:2.04?3.77)ba PWV increased by 1.76 times(95%CI:1.53?2.03).Conclusion Atherosclerosis is a risk factor for elevated blood pressure in young people.Figure0;Table6;Reference38...
