Background and ObjectiveThe 21st century into an irreversible aging society, the world's population aged over 60 will exceed 25% of the total population by the year 2010,and when to 2020, China's aging population will reach 300 million. With the aging population increases, cardiovascular disease has become a major disease threatening the health of the elderly, and aging will be the first cardiovascular disease risk factors, the effective evaluation of cardiovascular health could be the early detection of potential heart vascular disease, thus in a timely manner to take control and preventive measures to minimize the personal and financial burden on society as a whole. At present, arterial stiffness has been recognized as an independent cardio-cerebral vascular disease risk factors.2007 European hypertension guidelines collected a large data on the pulse wave velocity and ankle-brachial index from the past 10 years, show that pulse wave velocity and ankle-brachial index at high risk of cardiovascular all-cause mortality, cardiovascular disease incidence, coronary events and stroke have independent predictive value in evaluating the cardiovascular risk play a key role in the use of pulse wave velocity and ankle-brachial index detection of arterial stiffness index has already become the most important groups of people monitoring methods and an important research at home and abroad. This research healthy people in Shenyang had Brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity and ankle-brachial index test, and its vascular aging state further evaluation. To explore the changes of brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity and ankle-brachial index with aging in healthy people, and to analyze the law of vascular aging. Methods400 healthy people were divided into 5 groups:≤44 years old group,45-54 years old group,55-64 years old group,65-74 years old group and≥75 years old group. The items including carotid ultrasonograph, biocemistry, blood pressure, brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity and ankle-brachial index, were measured to observe their changing with aging.ResultsThe changes of baPWV were significantly changed with aging, and there were significant differences between men and women of≤44 years old group and 45-54 years old group.Age,systolic blood pressure(SBP),pulse pressure (PP) diastolic blood pressrue(DBP),carotid artery intima-media thickness(IMT),carotid artery intermal diameter(D), systole peak velocity(SPV), carotid artery end-diastolic velocity(EDV) low density lipoprotein(LDL),fast blood glucose, total cholesterol(TC), trigalloylglycerol(TG), were correlated with baPWV significantly(r value was 0.732,0.697,0.655,0.463,0.537,0.502,-0.277,-0.372,0.176,0.163,0.125,0.099, respectively with all P<0.01,except TC,TG with P<0.05).ConclusionsAge is the most important factor of arterial stiffness of healthy people,LDL is the risk factor of arteriosclerosis,To combine with PWV and ABI provided a evidence for evaluating health status of cardiovascular system.
