Objective: To investigate the relationship between the number of podocytes and ?3?1 integrin,clinical indexes in idiopathic membranous nephropathy patients.Methods: 30 patients with IMN(case group)and 30 patients with renal tumor surgery enrolled in our hospital were collected,a piece of normal regional renal tissue away from the tumor was used(control group).Podocytes in renel tissues were noted by WT1,and the expression of WT1,?3,?1 was detected by immunohistochemical method.At the same time,the relevant clinical data of all the patients enrolled were collected.Compare the differences in podocyte number,integrin ?3?1 between the case group and the control group,and observe the relationship between podocyte number and 24 h urine protein,creatinine,albumin and integrin.Results: The absolute number of podocytes in the case group was significantly lower than that in the control group(16.23 ±5.95 vs 38.50 ±13.12),(t=8.467,P=0.000).The relative density of podocytes in the case group was also decreased(0.92 ± 0.62 vs 1.74 ± 1.59),(t=2.650,P=0.012),and the integrin of the case group was less than that in the control group(2795.333997 vs 709.93.94±2.80),(t=2.423,P=0.020).The absolute number and relative density were respectively positively correlated with the amount of the expressions of integrin ?3?1 in patients with IMN(r = 0.552,P=0.000;r = 0.447,P=0.000).At the same time,the absolute number and relative density of podocytes were negatively correlated with 24 h urinary protein in patients with IMN(r=-0.551,P=0.002;r =-0.512,P=0.004),but there was no significant correlation between podocyte number and creatinine and albumin(P > 0.05).Conclusion: 1.The absolute number and relative density of glomerular podocytes in case group were lower than those in control group,respectively,suggesting the podocyte of renal tissue of idiopathic membranous nephropathy are damaged.2.The expression of glomerular integrin ?3?1 in case group were declined,and the number of podocytes decreased as the amount of ?3?1 integrin expression reduced,suggesting that the decrease of podocyte number was related to the expression of ?3?1 integrin.3.With the decrease of podocyte number in renal tissue,24 h urine protein gradually increased,suggesting that urinary protein leakage is related to podocyte number.Therefore,renal tissue podocytes can be used to evaluate renal lesions in patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy.
