Objective:Investigate the effect of differences in base materials on fracture resistance,To discuss whether fiber-reinforced composite as a base material after root canal treatment can improve the fracture resistance of teeth after onlay restoration.Methods:40 first permanent mandibular molars of similar size and shape were collected.All teeth were randomly divided into four groups of 10.Group A is the complete in vitro tooth,without treatment,while group B,C and D were treated by the same physician for root canal treament,After filling with warm gutta-percha.Group B used 2mm flowable composite resin to seal the opening of the root canal and to be basing materials,group C used 1mm flowable composite resin to seal the opening of root canal,1mm composite resin to be basing materials,and group D used 2mm fiber reinforcement impregnated with flowable composite resin to seal the opening of the root canal and to be basing materials.Onlay preparation was carried out in all three groups,which was 1.5-2mm from the tooth body to the basing material.Making model and bonding the onlay.Record the load value of the sample when it is cracked,and perform statistical analysis on the recorded value.Results:The fracture resisance load were compared among group A to D that using one-way ANOVA,Control group C(1635.331±246.510)has the highest value in test group.Followed by group D(1247.546±184.679),The groupB(1080.225±141.858)has the lowest fracture resistance(P< 0.05).Conclusion:The combination of flowable composite resin and composite resin as the basing material for onlay restoration can effectively improve the fracture resistance of teeth and protect the teeth tissue,while the combination of fiber reinforcement and fluid resin as the basing material needs further research.
