Objective: To explore the effect of health education based on Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills(IMB)Model on adherence of gynecological oncology patients undergoing enhanced recovery after surgery. Methods: This study was a non-synchronized,non-randomized trial.According to the time order of admission,100 patients with gynecological oncology who were admitted to the gynecology department of a third-grade hospital in Wuxi that admitted from March 2018 to December 2018 were included in the control group and 100 cases admitted from January to October,2019 were set as intervention group. Before the day of operation, the control group was given the routine health education;patients in the treatment group received health education based on IMB model. And the researcher gave interventions from three modules:information, motivation and behavior skills. The demographic data and clinical data of patients were collected by self-designed record table. The patients were followed up every day and the postoperative recovery indexes were also recorded in the self-designed record table including the rate of oral intake of fluids, early mobilization rate, the distance of daily mobilization, the time of postoperative exhaust and defecation, postoperative hospital stay and hospitalization expenses. The data of this study were analyzed with SPSS 23.0 software.Measurement data were expressed as mean ± standard deviation(?X ? S)and the differences between groups were compared by t-test and analysis of variance.Counting data were expressed by frequency(N)and percentage(%);Chi-square test was used for comparison between groups. All statistical tests were considered statistically significant by performing P< 0.05.Results:(1)There was no significant difference in general data between the two groups(P >0.05).(2)The rate of early postoperative food intake in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).(3)The comparison of the postoperative early mobilization rate of the two groups showed that the intervention group was higher than that in the control group and there was the statistically significant(P <0.05).On the postoperative day,the movement distance in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).On the first and second postoperative day,the movement distance in the intervention group was longer than that in the control group. And the difference were all statistically significant(P<0.05).(4)The comparing of the recovery time of gastrointestinal function between the two groups of patients showed that the postoperative exhaust time and postoperative defecation time in intervention group were shorter than control group and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(5)The average postoperative hospital days in the treatment group was shorter than that in the control group;the average hospitalization cost in the control group was higher than thatin the intervention group. The difference was statistically significant.(P <0.05).Conclusion:(1)Health education based on the IMB model can effectively improve the rate of patients' oral intake of fluids, early mobilization rate and the distance of daily mobilization with enhanced recovery after surgery of gynecological oncology, thus improving the compliance of enhanced recovery after surgery measures.(2)Health education based on IMB model can improve the clinical outcome of patients with gynecological tumor undergoing enhanced recovery after surgery.(3)The application of IMB model in patients with gynecological diseases is effective.
