Frankel believes that pursuing the meaning of life is the most important subject of an individual's life. The meaning of life is constantly changing with the change of space and time, especially in people who have suffered major negative events in life.Cancer patients suffer from painful torture and feel the imminence of death during their illness. As a result, they cause tremendous mental stress and produce frustration in seeking the meaning of life. Therefore,it is particularly urgent to use appropriate methods to intervene in the sense of meaninglessness of cancer patients.Frankel's meaning therapy provides a practical path to discover and find the meaning of life through the realization of empirical value, attitude value, and creative value.First, this study is based on the theory of meaning therapy, using a typical cancer patient as the research object, using qualitative research methods such as in-depth interviews and participatory observation methods, and inductive integration of relevant literature to analyze the meaning of life of the research object Causes of frustration.Secondly, through specific dimensional intervention, that is,continuously increasing the value of experience,re-creating the value of creativity, and continuously improving the value of attitude to help clients rebuild the meaning of life and eliminate the sense of meaninglessness in the spiritual level caused by treatment. Finally, the effectiveness of this case intervention was tested from process evaluation and follow-up evaluation, and an attempt was made to summarize the effective path of using meaningful therapy in the case service of cancer patients and the necessity and uniqueness of meaningful therapy intervention in the field of medical social workers during the exploration process. The authorhopes that this study of meaning therapy combined with individual cases will help patients deepen their interpretation of the meaning of life, and also provide a new perspective for medical social worker services, broadening the space and dimensions of medical social work.
