ObjectiveTo explore the effect of Living With Hope Program?LWHP?intervention on the level of hope and quality of life for family caregivers of patients with advanced liver cancer.MethodsFamily caregivers of 64 patients with advanced liver cancer diagnosed and treated in a Three-A hospital in Hunan Province from January to September 2019 were selected as the research subjects,and they were randomly divided into intervention group?n=32?and control group?n=32?.The control group implemented the routine care knowledge education program,and the intervention group implemented the LWHP while implementing the routine care knowledge education program.The intervention time was two weeks.The Herth Hope Index Scale?HHI?and Concise Quality of Life Questionnaire?SF12-v2?were used to evaluate the hope level of the study subjects and the intervention effects of quality of life?mental health,physical health?at the time of enrollment,1 week,2weeks,1 month and 3 months.Data were entered into SPSS 25.0 statistical software,and statistical methods such as t test,?2 test,and repeated measures analysis of variance were used for analysis.When P<0.05,the difference was statistically significant.Results?1?A total of 63 patients participated in the study,including 31 in the intervention group and 32 in the control group.The general data of the two groups were compared before the intervention,and the difference was not statistically significant?P>0.05?,which was comparable.?2?Intervention effect of living with hope program on the level of hope for family caregivers of patients with advanced liver cancer:The intervention group's hope level scores for 2 weeks,1 month and 3 months were 37.71±1.58 points,39.45±1.67 points,and 40.13±2.00 points,which were higher than the control group's 36.13±1.68 points and 36.09±1.71points,36.25±1.59 points,the differences were statistically significant?P<0.05?.The results of repeated measurement analysis of variance showed that the difference in hope level scores between the intervention group and the control group was statistically significant(Fgroup=21.709,P=0.000),the difference in the hope level scores of the research subjects at different times was statistically significant(Ftime=36.406,P=0.000),there was an interaction between the time of the hope level and the group(Ftime×group=41.962,P=0.000).?3?Intervention effect of living with hope program on psychological health for family caregivers of patients with advanced liver cancer:The mental health scores of the intervention group for 2 weeks,1 month and 3months were 45.61±3.61 points,46.29±3.47 points,46.81±3.39points,which were higher than the control group's 40.84±3.12 points and40.44±2.68 points,40.16±3.39 points,the differences were statistically significant?P<0.05?.The results of repeated measurement analysis of variance showed that the psychological health scores difference between the intervention group and the control group was statistically significant(Fgroup=24.951,P=0.000),the difference in the psychological health scores of the research subjects at different times was statistically significant(Ftime=16.143,P=0.000),there was an interaction between the time of mental health and the group(Ftime×group=65.004,P=0.000).?4?Intervention effect of living with hope program on physical health for family caregivers of patients with advanced liver cancer:The physical health scores of the intervention group for 2 weeks,1 month and 3 months were 48.26±4.07 points,49.65±3.99 points,49.84±3.63 points,which were higher than the control group's 45.94±4.37 points and 45.81±4.32points,45.78±4.29 points,the differences were statistically significant?P<0.05?.The results of repeated measurement analysis of variance showed that the difference in physiological health scores between the intervention group and the control group was statistically significant(Fgroup=5.433,P=0.023),the difference in the physiological health scores of the research subjects at different times was statistically significant(Ftime=12.413,P=0.000),there was an interaction between the time of physical health and the group(Ftime×group=23.607,P=0.000).ConclusionLWHP can effectively improve the hope level of family caregivers of patients with advanced liver cancer and improve the quality of life.
