Objective:To explore the clinical effect of different surgical methods(curettage and decompression)in the treatment of jaw cyst, and to compare the advantages and disadvantages of two groups surgical methods,so as to provide theoretical basis for clinical practice. Methods:From August 2017 to December 2018,40 patients with jaw cyst in Anqing Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University were selected as the study objects. After the implementation of card random grouping mode and the signing of informed consent, they were divided into two groups: complete curettage group(control group, group B)and decompression group(observation group, group A),20 cases in each group. The average diameter of cysts before and after operation, the average amount of intraoperative bleeding, the incidence of postoperative complications(postoperative swelling and numbness, maxillary sinus perforation, pathological fracture),the recurrence rate of half a year after operation were compared and analyzed, and the data collected were statistically analyzed.Result:There was no significant difference in the general data and the average diameter of cysts between the two groups(P > 0.05).There were significant differences between the two groups in the mean diameter of cysts, the mean amount of bleeding, the incidence of postoperative complications and the recurrence rate after half a year(P < 0.05).Conclusion:Compared with curettage, decompression is more simple, less complications and easy to be accepted by patients.
