Clinical Evaluation Of Different Surgical Methods In The Treatment Of Odontogenic Jaw Cyst

Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of different surgical methods(curettage,curettage+GBR,decompression)in the treatment of odontogenic jaw cysts,the advantages and disadvantages of the three surgical methods were compared to provide a basis for the clinical selection of surgical treatment of odontogenic jaw cysts.Methods:Sixty patients with odontogenic jaw cysts who were hospitalized in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from 2016 to 2017 were selected as subjects.Divided subjects into three groups:curettage groups(Group A,control group,28 cases),curettage +GBR group(group B,20 cases),decompression group(group C,12 cases).Cone beam computed tomography(CBCT)was performed before and 3,6,9 and 12 months after surgery to monitor the change of cyst volume.Finally,the data were collected and compared.The mean operative time,incidence of postoperative complications,recurrence rate and the percentage reduction of the average cyst volume in 3,6,9 and12 months after surgery were compared and analyzed.Result:(1)Mean operative time: group C < group A < group B(P<0.05);(2)postoperative complication rate and recurrence rate: There was no significant difference between the three groups(P>0.05).(3)Average cyst volume reduction percentage: 3 and 6 months after surgery: group A < group C < group B(P<0.05);9 and 12 months after surgery:group A < group B < group C(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Decompression is a minimally invasive,safe,economical and reliable conservative treatment for odontogenic jaw cysts.2.Curettage + GBR:The osteogenesis of the bone defect area is effective and can be used as an alternative to decompression.3.CBCT and Mimics software are of great significance in evaluating the postoperative efficacy of odontogenic jaw cysts,and it is worth further promotion.
