Objective Investment risk preference is one of the factors affecting decision-making ability. The impairment of decision-making ability is a characteristic manifestation of bipolar disorder(BD)patients.Even if clinical remission is achieved, the impairment of their decision-making ability still exists. One of the characteristic symptoms of bipolar disorder mania(BD-M)patients is excessive participation in investment activities that may bring painful consequences. The investment risk preference refers to the individual's evaluation and decision-making tendency of risks and benefits when facing objectively existing investment risks. The difference of investors ' risk preference directly affects investment decisions. The comparison of BD-M patients' and healthy people's preferences will help to judge the potential risks of economic loss. The first-degree relatives(siblings)of BD patients live closely with the patients and play an important supporting role in their later recovery and social reintegration. However,BD has obvious familial aggregation.Healthy first-degree relatives(siblings)of BD-M patients also have varying degrees of neurocognitive impairment. This kind of damage may indirectly affect the patient's later recovery. The purpose of this paper is to study the differences of investment risk preferences among BD-M patients, their healthy first-degree relatives(siblings)and healthy subjects by using the self-test table of risk assessment of financial clients for commercial banks, and to preliminarily explore the decision-making ability of BD-M patients in their remission period and their healthy first-degree relatives(siblings) from the perspective of investment risk. Methods 28 bipolar disorder-mania patients, hospitalized in Kangning hospital,Shenzhen from June 2018 to October 2019,were marked as the BD group.28 healthy first-degree relatives(siblings)and 30 healthy control individuals with similar ages, educational levels and assets as the BD group were respectively labeled as the relatives group and the control group. The risk assessment self-test table of financial customers for commercial banks was used to evaluate investment risk preferences of three groups of subjects, from five factors, namely, the financial situation, investment experience, investment style, investment goal and risk tolerance. The subjects were then divided into five types: conservative, steady, balanced, growing and enterprising.SPSS software was used to analyze the differences of the three groups' investment risk preference scores, preference types and constituent factors.Result It was statistically significant for the differences in the total score of investment risk preference between the BD group and the control group(P < 0.001),the BD group and the relatives group(P < 0.001),and the relatives group and the control group(P = 0.009).Furthermore,subjects were classified based on their scores, and was accordingly recommended low-risk or medium and high-risk financial products.Differences among the three groups and between two of them had statistical significance(P < 0.001).There were differences among the three groups in investment experience, investment style, investment purpose and risk tolerance(P <0.05).Differences between the BD group and the relative group(P < 0.05),the BD group and the control group(P < 0.05),in investment experience, investment style, investment purpose and risk tolerance had statistical significance.Difference between the relative group and the control group(P < 0.05)in investment style and investment purpose had statistical significance.Difference between the relative group and the control group(P > 0.05)in investment experience and risk tolerance had no statistical significance. Conclusion In remission period, bipolar disorder-mania patients still have higher investment risk preference than healthy people, and the risk awareness of their first-degree relatives(siblings)is lower than that of healthy people.
