Objective: In order to understand the smoking behavior of male schizophrenics in stable period, and to explore the relationship between smoking and mental symptoms and pleasure loss of male schizophrenics in stable period. Methods: According to the enrollment criteria,160 male stable schizophrenics admitted from Qingdao mental health center from September 2018 to June 2019 were selected as the experimental group;meanwhile,160 male volunteers from the mental health examination center of the hospital were selected as the control group. The clinical basic information scale,Positive and Negative Symptom Scale(PANSS),Chinese-Version of the Revised Physical Anhedonia Scale(RPAS-C),Chinese-Version of the Revised Social Anhedonia scale(RSAS-C)and the Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence(FTND)were used to evaluate them.T-test and Chi-square test were used to analyze the general data, mental symptoms, lack of pleasure and nicotine dependence of the two groups.Correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to explore the correlation between smoking and mental symptoms and lack of pleasure. Results: 1.The difference of education level and marital status between the experimental group and the control group was statistically significant. The education level and married rate of the experimental group were lower than that of the control group, and the unmarried rate and divorce rate were higher than that of the control group.2.The scores of RPAS-C and RSAS-C in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.01).3.The nicotine highly dependent smokers in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, the difference was statistically significant.4.The scores of RPAS-C and RSAS-C in the control smoking group were higher than those in the non-smoking group(P<0.01).5.There was a positive correlation between the scores of RPAS-C and RSAS-C and the scores of FTND in the control smoking group(P<0.01).6.Lack of social pleasure was a risk factor of smoking behavior in the control group.7.The score of PANSS、general psychopathology symptom、supplemental symptom、RPAS-C and RSAS-C of experimental smoking group were higher than those of non-smoking group, while the negative symptom score was lower than that of non-smoking group, the difference was statistically significant.8.There was a positive correlation between the scores of RPAS-C and RSAS-C in the experimental smoking group and the scores of FTND(r=0.52,0.48,P<0.01),and a negative correlation between the scores of negative symptoms and the scores of FTND(r=-0.25,P<0.05).9.Lack of physical pleasure and lack of social pleasure were the risk factors of smoking behavior in the experimental group. Conclusions: The level of pleasure deficiency and nicotine dependence in male patients with stable schizophrenia were higher than that in male normal people, which was consistent with the results of most studies.Smoking has an influence on the mental symptoms of male stable schizophrenics, such as the overall mental symptom and negative symptom. Both schizophrenics and healthy controls who smoke have a higher degree of loss of pleasure. At the same time, regression analysis indicates that lack of pleasure is a risk factor for smoking behavior.Schizophrenic patients with more severe physical and social pleasure deficiency may have more obvious smoking behaviors, and normal men with more severe social pleasure deficiency may have more frequent smoking behaviors.Significance: In this study,we found that there was a correlation between smoking and mental symptoms and pleasure loss in schizophrenic stable male patients, which provided a reference and hint for the related research of smoking cessation in schizophrenic stable male patients. In the future research on smoking cessation of male schizophrenics, this part of factors can be used as an intervention target for further research,so as to help male schizophrenics quit smoking, protect their life and health, and improve the quality of life of this part of patients.
