The Application Of Thoracoscopy-assisted MIPO In The Treatment Of Rib Fractures

Objective: To study the clinical effect of minimally invasive plate internal fixation(MIPO)assisted by video-assisted thoracoscopy(VATS)in the treatment of rib fractures.Methods: A retrospective study was performed in 60 patients with rib fractures treated in our department from December 2015 to December 2019.In the observation group,thoracoscopic assisted MIPO was used to fix the rib fracture with preformed rib locking titanium plate(MatrixRIB).The rib fracture in the control group was fixed with traditional open reduction and internal fixation.The clinical curative effect,treatment index and complications of the two groups were observed.Results: 1.There was no significant difference in VAS pain score and operation time between the observation group and the control group.2.The pain score 3 days and 7 days after surgery,intraoperative blood loss,chest tube extubation time,hospitalization time,surgical incision length and the incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05).Conclusions: The application of MIPO technique in the treatment of rib fracture assisted by thoracoscopy can significantly improve the effect of treatment and is worthy of clinical application.
